Alice represents public and private companies in complex employment litigation, with experience across industries including technology, entertainment, automotive, and retail. She has successfully defended employers in high-stakes class and representative actions, including those brought under the Equal Pay Act, Washington’s Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, PAGA, the WARN Act, and wage and hour laws in both Washington and California. In addition to class actions, Alice regularly defends employers in sensitive single-plaintiff cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower allegations—often brought by senior executives or other high-profile employees. She also advises companies navigating employee mobility disputes, including those involving alleged trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, or the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
No matter the case, Alice crafts an approach that is both efficient and effective. A trusted advisor, she partners closely with clients to develop a practical, business-focused solution to litigation in any venue, including federal and state courts, arbitration, and in government investigations. Prior to joining Orrick, Alice worked as an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Century City office. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School where she graduated cum laude.
Russell represents private credit funds, asset managers, banks, sponsors, borrowers and other investors in financings for a wide range of energy and infrastructure asset classes, including solar, wind, battery storage, conventional power and other infrastructure projects. With extensive private credit experience, Russell is skilled at structuring and documenting complex financing structures such as senior secured project-level financings, back-leveraged financings, term loan A, term loan B and asset-backed loans.
She advises clients on the tax and securities issues related to equity-based compensation, including stock options, restricted stock, employee stock purchase plans and deferred compensation arrangements for both private and public companies as well as in the context of initial public offerings and acquisitions.
Dave has extensive trial experience at the state and federal levels, including in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Delaware Court of Chancery, and the Commercial Division of New York State’s Supreme Court, New York County. Dave also has experience representing and defending clients' rights and remedies before federal and state regulators. Among other of Dave's successful trial outcomes, Dave served as co-lead counsel and secured a complete victory for his client in a dispute between two joint venture real-estate development partners after completing a 23-day bench trial in New York County’s Commercial Division and authoring the post-trial brief.
A zealous advocate for his clients, Dave is particularly adept at developing overall litigation strategies and, where advisable, advising clients regarding litigation avoidance, such as resolving business disputes through negotiation and mediation. He is skilled in working efficiently on behalf of his clients by quickly assessing potential liability and exposure, including the viability of any available claims and defenses, and aggressively acting to use the same in helping his clients achieve the best outcome consistent with their practical business objectives. Where appropriate and necessary, Dave has utilized his broad experience in structuring varied agreements with outside litigation funding firms, enabling his clients to litigate or arbitrate meritorious claims while providing alternative sources of funding to pay for the expense of litigation.
Mr. Hollander has represented key parties in restructuring matters involving a wide range of sectors—including offshore drilling, aerospace, automotive, sovereign wealth, manufacturing, retail, and telecommunications. He frequently writes on insolvency related topics and routinely appears on panels at industry conferences.
Kyle works with litigation attorneys and third-party vendors to manage the review and production of documents relevant to investigations and litigation. This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. She also manages teams of skilled professionals performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs. Kyle assists the litigation team to prepare for trial, including drafting deposition summaries, factual memoranda and exhibit charts. She also works with practice office attorneys on transactional tasks, including contract review and due diligence.
Viv has extensive experience working for and with corporate, private and public sector clients, entrepreneurs, large banks, investors, law firms and accountancy firms in all aspects of company secretarial practice and corporate law.
