She has handled appellate matters in the U.S. Supreme Court, various federal appellate courts and in the California Supreme Court and appellate courts. She is a veteran trial attorney and has applied her experience as a former U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney to serving corporate and governmental clients. She recently served for five years as the partner-in-charge of Orrick’s Sacramento office. She also served for several years as head of Orrick’s Litigation Training Program and as vice-chair of the firm’s Litigation Division.
Before joining Orrick, Cynthia was an attorney at Condon & Forsyth in Washington, D.C. from 1982 to 1985. Prior to that, she was a trial attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where she served in the Honors Program and specialized in civil trial work. Representative cases handled by Cynthia on behalf of the United States include: Sweet v. United States, 528 F.Supp. 1068 (D.S.D. 1081), aff’d, 687 F.2d 246 (8th Cir. 1982) (trial counsel); Pike v. United States, 652 F.2d 31 (9th Cir. 1981) (trial and appellate counsel); Gaspard v. United States, 544 F.Supp. 55 (E.D.La. 1982); Marek v. United States, 639 F.2d 1164 (5th Cir. 1981) (trial counsel).
Cynthia frequently writes and lectures on litigation topics. She serves as a pro tem settlement conference judge for the Sacramento Superior Court and as a federal court mediator.
In addition to being admitted in California, Cynthia is also admitted in Idaho (inactive) and the District of Columbia (inactive).
In addition, Mayling serves as issuer’s counsel to the California Statewide Communities Development Authority and the California Public Finance Authority for 501(c)(3) conduit financings, and as special counsel to the California State Treasurer’s Office in transactions for bonds insured through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information’s Cal-Mortgage Loan Insurance program.
Jenna has worked on all structures available in public finance, including fixed and variable, tax-exempt and taxable, insured, letter of credit and liquidity supported bonds, conversions, tenders, exchanges, restructurings and reofferings, senior/subordinate, capital appreciation and convertible capital appreciation bonds, securitizations, project finance, direct purchases, bank-qualified transactions and 144A and Section 4a2 offerings.

He has represented clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in federal court, and in state court. Additionally, Seth has authored numerous widely-read articles and newsletters on a variety of legal topics, including intellectual property and sports law.

Before embarking on his legal career, Seth served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and as an agroforestry volunteer in El Salvador with the U.S. Peace Corps.
As a member of Orrick's Restructuring Group, Nick represents a variety of institutional creditors in restructuring-related matters.
Prior to law school, Nick served as an infantry officer in the Army for over seven years, where he graduated from U.S. Army Ranger School and led organizations of more than 200 personnel in training and combat environments.
For years, Anna has worked with companies at all stages of their life cycles to find legal solutions that advance the goals of their business. With a particular passion for helping early to mid-stage technology and life sciences companies, Anna deeply knows the challenges these companies face and is able to provide practical solutions on a wide variety of day-to-day employment law issues, including leave and other accommodations, worker classifications, onboarding, performance management and terminations.
