Libby joins trial teams – both within and outside of Orrick – and takes the role of legal strategist and brief writer. Before trial, Libby develops strategies for raising and preserving legal issues, especially Daubert issues and dispositive motions. At trial, Libby handles the charge conference, Rule 50(a) or directed verdict motions, and pocket briefing as needed. After trial, she manages the post-trial briefing and transitions the case to appeal.
More than half of Libby's cases involve co-counsel outside of Orrick, where she quickly develops productive and collaborative relationships with outside litigation teams. She has experience in trial courts in Delaware, Texas, California (state and federal), Massachusetts, and the ITC.
In addition to her trial work, Libby maintains a robust appellate practice. Libby leads appellate briefing and has presented oral arguments in the Federal Circuit, Ninth Circuit, and New York Appellate Division. She has also represented clients in appeals to the Sixth Circuit, DC Circuit, California Court of Appeal, and US Supreme Court.
Libby also has an active pro bono practice, including representing the Arizona Federal Public Defender’s Office in an ongoing administrative challenge to capital habeas proceedings.
Prior to joining Orrick, Libby served as a law clerk to Judge Raymond C. Clevenger III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and to Judge Ronald M. Whyte of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Before law school, Libby was a patent examiner in the medical device area at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Sarah is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property group. Before law school, Sarah worked for four years in the in-house legal departments of major technology companies. She draws on her in-house experience to understand her clients' businesses and needs and to come up with creative solutions to their legal challenges.
Immediately prior to joining Orrick, Sarah clerked for Justice Daniel E. Winfree of the Alaska Supreme Court.
During law school, Sarah gained civil litigation experience as a clinical intern in the East Bay Community Law Center's Consumer Justice Clinic and served as a student director of Berkeley Law's Appellate Advocacy course.

Anika's practice focuses on corporate and securities law, including general corporate representation, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions on both the buy side and sell side, and public offerings.
Prior to joining Orrick, Anika was a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Jennifer works with life sciences clients in the areas of genomics, genome editing, antibody therapeutics, immuno-oncology therapies, cell-based therapies, protein therapeutics, antisense technologies, and pharmaceutical compositions and formulations. She has experience in preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications, strategic counseling and managing global patent portfolios, and performing due diligence, freedom to operate, and patentability analyses.
Prior to joining Orrick, Jennifer was a senior patent agent at a large national law firm in San Francisco.
Before becoming a patent agent, Jennifer was a postdoctoral fellow at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and she investigated cardiomyocyte differentiation from stem cells. Her doctoral studies at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies focused on transcriptional regulatory systems during organ development. She has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles in the fields of genetics, molecular biology and cell biology.

Serena's practice focuses on representing individuals and companies in a broad range of industries in government and internal investigations, securities litigation, regulatory enforcement actions, and other complex business litigation. Her experiences include conducting internal investigations and representing companies and individuals in investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Drug Enforcement Agency. Serena represents companies in the technology and financial sectors in a wide range of civil disputes including claims of breach of contract and patent infringement.

Reese's practice spans both criminal and civil litigation in the white collar, securities, and complex business litigation fields. He represents and advises a diverse range of clients, including individual executives navigating criminal liability and employment disputes, as well as publicly traded corporations responding to an array of civil claims.
As a law student, Reese worked as an intern at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office in the Litigation Division as well as working as an extern with Legal Services of Northern California.

Jessica has handled both jury and non-jury trials and injunction proceedings in federal and state courts and has extensive experience in extraordinary writ practice and appeals before California and federal courts.Additionally, she has advised clients in the computer industry and various manufacturing and service fields on trademark, copyright and antitrust issues, including issues relating to domain name use on the Internet. She has handled cases for major franchisers in the automotive service and home health care industries as well as state and federal antitrust actions against Microsoft and many television and movie studios. Recently, Jessica has had primary responsibility for large consumer class actions settlements arising from antitrust litigation against Microsoft.
Before joining Orrick, Jessica was a shareholder at Heller Ehrman LLP. She was Managing Partner of that firm from 1992 to 1995 and Chair of the Promotion Evaluation Committee from 2001 to 2007.

Erin's practice focuses on water, wastewater, public power, solid waste, airport and port financings, primarily in California and the territory of Guam. In addition, Erin has experience working on complex public-private-partnership (P3) transactions.
Erin also serves on the Board of Directors of the Asian Americans in Public Finance.

Wolf represents many of the country’s most prominent developers and financing parties in structuring transactions to take advantage of tax credits, Treasury cash grants, depreciation benefits, and other available tax benefits. He has represented developers and tax equity investors in financings of both wind and solar projects, as well as on tax planning for energy storage, carbon capture, and carbon sequestration projects.
