Matthew Sebastian Sr Analytics Project Attorney

The Discovery Analytics and Review Services group prioritizes using technology and project management discipline to assist firm attorneys with litigation and transactional tasks, particularly tasks that involve large volumes of data and documents.

This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. Matthew also manages teams of skilled professionals performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs. He assists the litigation team to prepare for trial, including drafting deposition summaries, factual memoranda and exhibit charts. Matthew also works with practice office attorneys on transactional tasks, including contract review and due diligence.

Will also has firmwide responsibility for managing several of the firm’s operational relationships, including AMEX, Travel, Emergency Preparedness, and serves as Director of the Firm’s Community Responsibility Programs.

Prior to joining Orrick, Will was the City Manager of Wheeling, West Virginia, for four years and the Assistant City Manager for four years prior to promotion to City Manager. He also served as the County Administrator for Hancock County, West Virginia, from 1989 to 1993.

Will is a graduate of West Liberty State College with a BS in Political Science and holds a MPA degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University.

He is married to Tracey (Nichols) and has two children, Nicholas, and Anna.

She handles corporate issues typically overseen by in-house counsel, with an ardent awareness of in-house counsel’s need to receive exceptional work in an expeditious manner. She provides tactical guidance on managing the complete life cycle of corporate, supply chain, and technology agreements.

In addition to her firm responsibilities, Christine works with Orrick's Finance teams on various transactional matters, including performing due diligence and drafting deal documents and opinions for collateralized loan and debt obligations, synthetic collateralized debt obligations and various other financial products. 

Christine is also active in her local community, serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Prior to joining Orrick, Rachel was an associate at a premier litigation and labor boutique law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she managed multiple complex litigation e-discovery projects.

Additionally, Rachel serves as the District 2000 President of GBU Life, a Pennsylvania nonprofit, member-owned, fraternal benefit society that strives to give back to its members, community, and charitable causes.

Melanie Hallums Senior Career Associate

Before joining Orrick, Melanie served as a law clerk and judicial assistant to the Honorable Thomas M. Hardiman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  She was previously an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, and a litigation associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.

Melanie received her law degree from Vanderbilt Law School, where she was an Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law.  She graduated from Vanderbilt University.

Marley Brison Career Associate

Marley focuses primarily on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance issues, restructurings, private equity transactions, and advising on general corporate matters.

Marley also concentrates her practice on matters pertaining to private equity and alternative investment funds, representing both institutional investors and fund sponsors. On the sponsor side, Marley handles various aspects of fund formation, including communicating with investors, preparing regulatory analyses of investors, drafting fund documents, and preparing regulatory filings.

Marley was a Summer Associate with Orrick in 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, cum laude, where she was the Lead Executive Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from Ohio University, summa cum laude, in Journalism/Pre-Law.
