As a member of Orrick’s Intellectual Property group, Geoff represents clients big and small through all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeals. Geoff was a member of the trial team and lead technology associate in Oracle v. Google, the long-running and high stakes lawsuit over Google’s use of Oracle’s Java APIs in the Android operating system. Geoff also has significant experience representing clients in a variety of commercial, employment, and products liability lawsuits.
Before attending law school, Geoff worked as a software developer at The Capital Group Companies, Raytheon, and the Teradata division of NCR.
Geoff spends significant time working on pro bono matters, notably with the Domestic Violence Project through the Los Angeles County Bar Association. The Project helps those in need navigate a complicated legal system in their time of need to get the restraining orders they need to stay safe.

He regularly counsels clients on a broad range of real estate matters, including the acquisition and disposal of investment property across asset classes; advice to corporate occupiers on lettings and office moves; real estate development; and the property aspects of corporate and financing transactions.
Simon also has extensive experience in the energy sector, where he has advised on the acquisition, sale, development and financing of a variety of projects. He has particular knowledge in renewable energy, with significant experience in offshore and onshore wind, solar and biomass. He is a member of the Orrick team that is adept in the disposal of offshore transmission assets as part of the OFTO tender process run by Ofgem.

Alex's practice focuses on drafting and negotiating offtake agreements, including physical and virtual power purchase agreements, capacity sales agreements and tolling agreements for solar, storage, wind and first-of-a-kind projects. Alex's offtake practice also includes advising on data center load agreements, carbon credit agreements, and aggregated distributed energy resources. Alex also advises on other project development and project M&A matters.
Prior to joining Orrick, Alex was an associate at another leading law firm where he focused on advising domestic and international corporate buyers, developers, investors, lenders, and sponsors in the acquisition and sale, development, financing, and offtake of energy projects.

Darrell has experience in a wide range of traditional real estate matters, including drafting and negotiating development agreements, construction contracts, restrictions agreements, purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, facility and office leases, and construction and permanent loan documents. He has also formed commercial and residential condominium regimes, including for mixed uses. He represents developers and users in acquisition and development matters, including requirements for access, utilities, detention, drainage, use restrictions and economic incentive arrangements. He also represents lenders in commercial mortgage loan originations, workouts and foreclosures.
Darrell also works on all aspects of real property requirements for energy and other projects, including drafting and negotiating leases, easements and other real property agreements, satisfying title insurance requirements, reviewing and revising property tax abatement agreements and resolving conflicts between mineral and surface development. connection with renewable energy projects, including the development, construction, financing, acquisition and disposition of projects.

At the forefront of her field, Lisa helped a client obtain the first authorization from the DOE to export domestic natural gas as LNG to all trading partners, and represented the first bi-directional LNG terminals proposed in the United States in proceedings before FERC.

Dahl represents project sponsors/developers, private equity investors, utilities and strategic investors in all stages of structuring, financing, acquiring and disposing of energy projects and companies, including the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale, joint development, shareholder, partnership and LLC operating, debt and equity financing, security and credit agreements. Over the last decade, Dahl has successfully closed transactions relating to projects totaling many thousands of megawatts and many billions of dollars in asset value.
Dahl is described by Chambers USA as having “excellent industry knowledge."

In addition to drafting and negotiating FIDIC, BIMCO, LOGIC and other standard form agreements, Jon also advises on highly bespoke construction management and fully "wrapped" EPC agreements.
Jon advises sponsors, lenders and contractors on the construction and operation of wind, solar, biomass and other renewable energy projects in Asia, Europe, the UK and the U.S.
Jon's recent experience includes performing the role of Commercial Director for the Formosa II offshore wind project in Taiwan.
Before returning to the UK in 2024, Jon was based in Singapore for a number of years where he advised on some of the most complex and innovative offshore wind projects in South Korea, Taiwan and elsewhere in Asia, including the Changfang and Xidao project developed by CIP and its partners, which remains one of the largest offshore wind project financings in Asia. Although based in London, Jon continues to advise on projects in various stages of development, construction and operation in Asia and the U.S.
Jon began his career as a disputes lawyer and continues to advise on contentious matters.

Lauren also represents investors and venture capital firms in their investments in technology companies.
Prior to joining Orrick, Lauren was an associate in the Corporate Group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in New York.
Boston
George is specialized in all areas of general corporate/securities law and in a wide variety of transactions (ex. venture financings, secondary offerings, redomestications, M&A and public offerings). His practice spans the entire corporate lifecycle, from inception to exit/liquidity, and includes the representation of companies and investors from various industries (ex. life sciences, health tech, energy tech, A.I, machine learning, robotics and blockchain).
In addition to his extensive experience in private practice, George previously served as the lead lawyer of Boehringer Ingelheim's U.S.-based venture fund, where he oversaw and supported all legal aspects of the venture fund's investment activities in the United States and Canada. During his time there, George also supported the venture fund's parent pharma company as lead counsel in several global financing and M&A transactions.
