Ashley advises on civil, appellate, and administrative procedural practices in state and federal court. Previously, she practiced employment law, defending companies against wrongful termination claims and counseling on best practices.

She begins by gathering an in-depth understanding of her client’s business and goals, and then evaluating the specific issue at hand, so that whether navigating a counseling issue or a complex litigation, she can understand every possible angle and design the best possible solution.
Lisa, who serves as a member of Orrick's Management Committee, regularly litigates a broad range of employment issues in court, administrative agencies, and arbitration. Lisa also helps companies at all stages of development avoid litigation or prevent a single-plaintiff matter from escalating to a class action. She has successfully handled a number of high-stakes arbitrations and internal investigations. In addition, she offers counseling on discrimination, harassment, equal pay, wage and hour issues, disability accommodations, termination and compensation. Lisa regularly advises clients on a variety of employment-related issues, including human resources policies and procedures, offer letters, severance agreements and employee termination.

Amanda counsels employers on a variety of employment law and compliance matters, including employee handbooks, employment policies and procedures, background checks, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, employment agreements, wage and hour compliance, workplace safety, paid sick leave, and confidentiality agreements. Amanda counsels clients in various industries but has unique experience with financial services, technology, retail, and non-profit organizations.
Amanda also has employment litigation experience, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims under federal and state laws, wage and hour claims, trade secrets and unfair competition, and matters involving non-competition and non-solicitation clauses.
Prior to Orrick, Amanda worked for Clark Hill, PLC in Pittsburgh as a labor and employment lawyer. She also worked as a Litigation Associate for Holland & Knight, LLP in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she practiced primarily commercial litigation.

Katie was a part of the trial team that obtained a complete dismissal for Oracle in OFCCP v. Oracle, a high-stakes systemic compensation discrimination case that garnered national media attention. Katie and her co-counsel were named "Litigators of the Week" by American Lawyer for the win. Two years later, Katie and her co-counsel were named Runners-Up by American Lawyer for securing decertification of a 3,000-person putative equal pay class action for Oracle.
In fall 2023, Katie co-first chaired a two week federal jury trial in Oregon and obtained a verdict against the client's former general manager, who set up a competing business while employed, on claims for breach of fiduciary duty and intentional interference.
Previously, Katie received California Lawyer’s Attorney of the Year Award in 2016 and was named a Northern California Super Lawyers "Rising Star" for seven consecutive years. She regularly writes and publishes on employment law developments, having presented on topics to three separate state bar associations and a host of national and regional legal and academic conferences.
Katie started her career at Orrick in 2004 and returned in 2015. From 2011 to 2014, she was an associate at a litigation boutique in San Francisco where she handled employment and constitutional law matters.

Jim's practice focuses on matters involving trade secret misappropriation and the enforcement of post-employment restrictions. Jim has conducted numerous temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction hearings in connection with these types of cases. Jim also has extensive experience defending employers on a broad range of employment matters, including whistleblowing, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination matters.
In recognition of his career trade secrets and restrictive covenant work, Jim has been inducted into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Trade Secrets Litigation.

Scott's professional passion is to defend employers in complex wage and hour class actions and representative lawsuits filed under California's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) statute, and he has extensive experience doing so. He has represented clients in the tech, insurance, airline, airline service, retail, healthcare, and grocery industries, among others, at all litigation phases.
Scott recognizes that industry nuances means there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wage-and-hour defense. His broad experience has enabled him to identify opportunities to use industry idiosyncrasies to his clients' advantage. Scott's litigation experience includes leading fact investigations, discovery management, drafting dispositive motions, brief writing, and pre-trial dispute resolution.
In addition to his wage-and-hour experience, Scott has defended clients against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under state and federal laws. He also frequently counsels employers on various employment issues including complex federal and California laws regarding the proper calculation of the regular rate of pay, leave protections and entitlement, wage and hour compliance, exempt vs. non-exempt classifications, and others.
Before practicing law, Scott clerked in Las Vegas for The Honorable Jennifer Dorsey of the District of Nevada. Scott earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, teaching assistant for Advanced Legal Writing, and member of the Trial Advocacy Team.

Nadège advises French and international companies on all employment law matters with a recognized experience on employment law aspects of corporate transactions. She regularly deals with employment law related issues arising in the context of restructurings (in particular social plans), mergers and acquisitions as well as more generally on all employment law aspects for domestic and international clients, regarding day to day issues, executive severance and relations with employee representatives and trade unions.

Jessica defends employers from discrimination and harassment claims on the basis of gender, race, religion, disability, age and other protected categories. She recently defeated class certification in cases alleging discrimination against women in technical roles for Microsoft and Twitter, earning her The American Lawyer’s "Litigator of the Week” award. She also won a complete defense verdict for Kleiner Perkins in the highly publicized gender discrimination and retaliation case Pao v. Kleiner Perkins, which the Daily Journal named the year’s ‘Top Verdict.’ Her trial victories also include winning defense judgments in cases involving claims of religious discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination. Jessica also specializes in pay equity matters, including in designing analyses and advising on compliance and risk mitigation. Jessica has a winning record in beating back class certification in high stakes wage-and-hour actions in federal and state court, including those brought under the Private Attorney General Act.
