Walt provides counseling on financial services mergers and acquisitions, focusing on assisting private equity sponsors and strategic buyers in investments in bank and nonbank financial services firms, providing regulatory and transactional advice to identify and mitigate risk, and assisting buyers in obtaining regulatory approvals where necessary.
His work also includes a wide range of counseling and acting on behalf of clients in enforcement matters, including those involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the prudential bank regulators, as well as state attorneys general and other state authorities.

Ross has been advising governments, sponsors and lenders on P3s and alternative delivery models for over 20 years in the USA, Australia, and the UK. He has been lead counsel on numerous first-of-their kind P3s in each of these jurisdictions and advised on a wide variety of infrastructure assets including, airports, rail and rolling stock, roads, flood control, hospitals, schools, housing, and waste management. Ana represents companies in the technology, energy, and financial sectors in a wide range of civil disputes including claims of trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract. Her practice also includes defending companies under investigation by states Attorneys General.
Prior to law school, Ana was a member of the legal team at Lyft supporting the Litigation, IP, Employment, Product/Commercial, and Corporate practice groups.

Alex has authored scientific papers in peer-reviewed publications examining the molecular basis of regenerative myogenesis and cancer-induced cachexia. His doctoral work in Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology from the University of Louisville focused on transgenic animal studies and in vitro paradigms to discern critical signaling pathways necessary for the repair of skeletal muscle. He has extensive experience in molecular biology, including the generation of viral vectors and CRISPR/Cas9 constructs, and in performing electrophysiological recording of skeletal muscle in situ. In his postdoctoral studies, he focused his research efforts on interrogating the molecular basis for the induction the skeletal muscle wasting disorder “cachexia” in a novel model of ovarian cancer-induced cachexia.

Simon has wide experience of acting for major financial institutions, companies and professional firms in complex litigation, investigations and proceedings by domestic and overseas regulators, professional disciplinary proceedings, ad hoc governmental inquiries and internal investigations. In particular he has acted for those subject to investigations by a wide range of regulatory bodies including the Financial Reporting Council, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Serious Fraud Office, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and others. He has considerable experience of advising clients on risk management and reputational risk arising from contentious matters.

Kyle's practice targets the novel issues posed by the intersection of business, technology, and media. Leveraging his entrepreneurial background, he strategically advocates for clients with their specific business concerns in mind. With a focus on advertising and technology, Kyle has experience handling every stage of a lawsuit. He also provides counsel regarding brand protection, helping clients enforce trademarks and assess copyright risks.
As a litigator, Kyle has represented plaintiffs and defendants within multiple jurisdictions. He has litigated claims in state and federal courts, in arbitration, and before the International Trade Commission. Outside the courtroom, Kyle actively advises emerging companies and larger corporations across various industries on how to develop and protect intellectual property. His experience includes trademark prosecution, licensing, domestic industry, and contract disputes.
Kyle also maintains a robust pro bono practice, which includes drafting contracts and negotiating settlements for creative enterprises. Ashlie grew up in a family of restaurant franchisees, and she learned about the power of a strong trademark at a young age. This understanding led her to pursue a career in trademark and copyright law, and from her start as a trademark prosecution intern at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in law school, through her work in trademark and copyright litigation at Fish & Richardson P.C., her practice has always focused on assisting businesses with their intellectual property needs.
Ashlie’s practice at Orrick focuses on domestic and international trademark and copyright prosecution and counseling. She has experience assisting businesses ranging from small start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations with trademark clearance, protection, and strategy. Additionally, Ashlie has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation in federal district courts and at the International Trade Commission. Because of her wide-range of experience, she brings to each matter a unique understanding of the intersection of copyright and trademark clearance and prosecution and enforcement and litigation.

Mike has represented clients in an array of matters, including employment, breach of contract and IP disputes, consumer protection class actions, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations. His experience also includes advising software and financial services companies on privacy and regulatory issues, including with respect to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
