Anne Savin Senior Career Associate

Anne brings her unique background to bear on federal appellate matters that cut across a range of substantive areas of the law. She has authored petitions for certiorari, briefs in opposition, and amicus briefs at the U.S. Supreme Court in cases involving civil rights, constitutional, veterans, and immigration law. She also advises clients on cutting-edge developments in the financial technology and artificial intelligence sectors, where disruptive technologies continue to raise fundamental legal questions.

For nearly a decade before joining Orrick, Anne served as an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corp.  Her military experiences include prosecuting dozens of criminal cases--including rape and murder--at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Fort Benning, Georgia, advising the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General and other senior Army leaders at the Pentagon on military justice issues, and advising the commander of the Army's only active-duty information warfare brigade in intelligence and operational law in the information and cyberspace domains.  Among other distinctions, Anne was awarded the Bronze Star for her service in Afghanistan with the 82d Airborne Division and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School.

Before joining the Army, Anne practiced in San Francisco with two AmLaw 100 firms.  Her representative cases include successfully defending an oil-and-gas company against claims brought under the Alien Tort Statute and customary international law, securing a complete defense verdict at trial on alter ego and agency liability allegations against an insurance company, and successfully defending on appeal summary judgments based on professional responsibility violations and statute of limitations grounds.

C. Anne Malik Partner

Anne represents clients in product liability cases with high potential damages, multiple jurisdictions and plaintiffs, and significant risk to critical product lines.   She also assists clients with risk analyses involving product liability exposure related to expansions in distribution areas, cross-border sales, and new product lines.

Anne is a member of teams representing product liability clients that include a Fortune 500 chemical company, a European pharmaceutical distributor, and a key defendant in asbestos litigation across the country.  She is experienced in matters involving a wide variety of issues, including medical monitoring, stream of commerce liability (including across international borders), premises liability, and successor liability.   

Anne also works with Orrick's Public Policy group assisting clients with developing strategies to solve high-stakes issues in state legislatures, and with state Attorneys General.  Anne works with teams representing clients that include the country's biggest telecommunications company and an industry-leading satellite TV company.

Shane D. Anderson Senior Associate

Los Angeles

Shane has experience working on patent disputes in Federal Court and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board for globally-recognized companies in the domains of software, communications, consumer electronics, and other high-tech fields.  He understands what it takes to be successful in complex patent litigation and wields his unique experience and education to gain the best result possible for his clients.  Prior to joining Orrick's Intellectual Property Group Shane practiced in Silicon Valley as an associate at a global law firm and focused on patent litigation.

Prior to law school, Shane was an electrical engineer and worked both in Japan and Canada, developing test systems, embedded hardware, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software.  Shane also worked as an educator in rural Japan, an experience that informs his ability to explain complex topics both clearly and persuasively.

Shane also has a passion for community service and pro bono representation.  Among his efforts, he assisted with the representation of plaintiffs in a Voting Rights Act, Section 2, litigation, and advised a small business owner and drafted agreements and contracts.

Anne Corbett Managing Associate

Jake Wyrick Of Counsel

Jake counsels companies throughout their lifecycles on matters including incorporation, debt and equity financings, corporate governance, securities law compliance, secondary sales, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He also advises venture capital and strategic corporate investors on a range of direct and secondary investments.

Jake O'Neal Managing Associate

Los Angeles

Drawing on his background as an electrical engineer, Jake litigates complex patent matters, encompassing cybersecurity, gaming, digital advertising technologies, analog and digital electronics, circuit design and fabrication, and renewable energy.  He also possesses notable experience in copyright cases involving AI and data scraping.  

Jake is also deeply committed to pro bono work.  As an Orrick Fellow at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California, he secured compassionate release for a client serving a life sentence and played a crucial role as third-chair in a 10-day trial regarding alleged violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).

Jake graduated first in his class with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and worked at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, where he developed circuits for NASA-contracted space missions.  He attended law school at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and graduated in the top 10% of his class.  He recently completed a federal district court clerkship in the Central District of California.

Dana Sublett Associate

Before joining Orrick, Dana served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Todd M. Hughes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Dana graduated magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law. She also graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a minor in French, and a certificate in Engineering Therapeutics Manufacturing. Prior to law school, Dana worked as an engineer in a Texas-based semiconductor manufacturing facility.
