Vincent Yiu is a senior associate in Orrick’s New York office and is a member of the Restructuring group.

Vincent advises major stakeholders in domestic and cross-border insolvency proceedings across a variety of industries, including retail, food, energy, materials, healthcare, and financial services.

Vincent graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in International Relations and is a graduate of Stanford Law School. He has passed the CFA Level I, II, and III Exams.

Prior to joining Orrick, Vincent was an associate at an international law firm with its Business, Finance & Restructuring practice, also based in New York.

    • Counsel to Greensill Ltd. for its $440 million avoidance claims in Katerra Inc.'s chapter 11 cases involving liabilities in excess of $1 billion.
    • Counsel to bondholder group which backstopped SM Energy's out-of-court restructuring of $2.6 billion in debt.
    • Counsel to distressed investors in the chapter 11 cases of PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company involving estimated liabilities (including contingent and disputed liabilities) in excess of $50 billion.
    • Counsel to distressed investors in the workout and bankruptcy of opioid manufacturers.
    • Debtor counsel to Westinghouse Electric Company in its chapter 11 cases involving liabilities in excess of $9 billion.*
    • Debtor counsel to Sears Holdings Corporation's chapter 11 cases with approximately $6 billion in debt.*
    • Debtor counsel to China Fishery Group Ltd.'s chapter 11 and cross-border restructurings of approximately $2 billion in debt.*
    • Debtor counsel to Tops Holding II Corporation's chapter 11 cases with approximately $1 billion in debt.*
    • Debtor counsel to Central Grocers, Inc.'s chapter 11 cases in connection with the sale of retail and distribution operations.*
    • Counsel to MBIA Insurance Corporation in the involuntary chapter 11 cases of Zohar CDO entities involving approximately $1 billion in insured liabilities.*
    • Counsel to HPS Investment Partners as term and exit lender in the $449 million prepackaged chapter 11 cases of J.G. Wentworth.*
    • Counsel to foreign representative in U.S. Steel Canada's chapter 15 case for recognition of CCAA Proceeding involving the restructuring of approximately CAD $2 billion and USD $193 million in debt.*
