Kyle represents public and private companies and private equity funds in various domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions on both the buy-side and sell-side. Kyle is also experienced in advising clients on representation and warranty insurance and venture financings. As part of Orrick’s fintech and artificial intelligence working group, Kyle analyzes and creates thought leadership on novel legal issues related to crypto, web 3.0 and artificial intelligence.
Kyle is passionate about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. He serves as a leader on Orrick’s New York Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and Orrick’s Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Inclusion Network. Prior to joining Orrick, Sachi clerked for Justice Leondra Kruger of the California Supreme Court and Judge Kenneth Ripple of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Sachi attended the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as an Executive Editor of the Michigan Law Review and a research assistant working at the intersection of constitutional and international law. Before law school, Sachi worked in documentary film production; she received the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship for her work in the same field. She currently serves as a lecturer in Entertainment Law for the Department of Film and Media at the University of California, Berkeley.

Kane advises U.S., and Japanese companies on cross-border M&A, joint venture, strategic investments, technology licensing, and energy related transactions, as well as compliance, corporate governance, and general corporate matters.
In addition to transactions between U.S., and Japanese companies, Kane works on a variety of multijurisdictional transactions involving entities and assets in Asia and Europe.
Kane has gained client-side experience from his secondments to a U.S. and Japan joint venture appliances company from 2015 to 2016, a Japan subsidiary of a U.S. based elevator and escalator company in 2016, and a Japan electric utility company from 2019 to 2020.
Kane worked at Orrick’s Silicon Valley office from 2010 to 2012, where he focused on technology sector M&A.

Joshua often works on cross-border disputes and has represented clients from the UK, US, Uruguay, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore and various other offshore jurisdictions. He has acted in arbitrations under the main arbitration rules including the ICC and LCIA, and on disputes governed by the laws of numerous countries including England & Wales, Italy and the British Virgin Islands.
He is also a published author and frequently writes about developing areas of law. Most recently, he wrote about the changes to the UK’s sanctions regime and DIAC’s arbitration rules.
