Together with an international and interdisciplinary team, he also supports scaleups and multinationals in their expansion projects, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions between Germany and the USA.
Sven’s goal is to build bridges for his clients between Germany, Silicon Valley, and other international technology hubs, helping them achieve successful growth in the global market. His legal and business background, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience from more than 400 financing rounds and M&A projects across various industries enable him to fully understand his clients’ strategic and commercial objectives and to develop creative solutions to achieve them.
Sven volunteers with entrepreneur groups at the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, the RWTH Aachen, the Technical University of Munich and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; he regularly lectures at the WHU and the RWTH incubation and innovation centers. In 2020, he launched the Founder Legal Boot Camp, a unique free-of-charge seminar program that educates aspiring founding teams from technical and business universities about all relevant legal pitfalls in the areas of company formation, financing, and the initial growth phase. Organized in collaboration with Germany’s leading startup universities, the Founder Legal Boot Camp now takes place three times a year in Düsseldorf, Munich, and alternately in Karlsruhe/Stuttgart.

Amanda counsels clients in various industries but has unique experience with financial services, technology, retail, and non-profit organizations.
Amanda also has employment litigation experience, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims under federal and state laws, wage and hour claims, trade secrets and unfair competition, and matters involving non-competition and non-solicitation clauses.
Prior to Orrick, Amanda worked for Clark Hill, PLC in Pittsburgh as a labor and employment lawyer. She also worked as a Litigation Associate for Holland & Knight, LLP in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she practiced primarily commercial litigation.

Brandon works with litigation attorneys and third party vendors to manage the review and production of documents relevant to investigations and litigation. This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. He also manages teams of skilled professionals performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs. Brandon assists the litigation team to prepare for trial, including drafting deposition summaries, factual memoranda and exhibit charts. He also works with practice office attorneys on transactional tasks, including contract review and due diligence.

She has partnered with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies to develop comprehensive privacy and cybersecurity policies and procedures that comply with U.S., EU and UK law and self-regulatory frameworks, including U.S. state privacy laws; the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); the CAN-SPAM Act; the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act); and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Nick helps clients develop flexible governance frameworks for the development and use of artificial intelligence in the face of ever evolving AI legislation. He also advises clients on strategies, policies and procedures for the sourcing of AI training data, the responsible use of AI by employees, the assessment of risks presented by AI tools, the design of consumer-facing AI, the negotiation of AI-related contracts and the handling of AI-related regulatory inquiries and investigations.
Nick also devotes a portion of his practice to innovative client solutions and community engagement. He was part of the Orrick team that developed Orrick’s AI Resource Center, EU AI Act reference guide, U.S. AI Law Tracker and Gen AI Policy Builder. His pro bono practice has included representing clients in immigration and innocence matters and assisting small businesses with their legal needs.
Nick has obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional -/ United States (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) and Privacy Law Specialist (PLS) designations from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
