In addition, Mimiao works extensively on cybersecurity & data privacy issues for both Chinese and international clients.
Prior to joining Orrick, Mimiao was a senior associate in the Beijing and Shanghai offices of a major PRC law firm.

SueAnn represents issuers, sponsors, placement agents, servicers, underwriters, and other market participants in connection with both public offerings and private placements, asset acquisitions and sales and the negotiation of lending facilities.
Her practice encompasses a variety of asset-backed securities, including credit and charge card receivables, residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), agency and government sponsored mortgage loans, and tax lien-backed securities.

Before joining Orrick, David served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nora Barry Fischer in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Prior to his clerkship, David served as a full-time extern to the Honorable Kathleen O'Malley at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
David also spent a year working in-house for Panasonic Corporation, stationed near Panasonic's Osaka, Japan headquarters.

Ari's experience includes supervising cases through all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy through appeal. Most recently, Ari served as lead counsel to an aerospace defense company in litigation that began in New York State court and continued through a six-month trial in bankruptcy court in connection with a $1.3 billion restructuring transaction. His courtroom advocacy, briefing strategies, and fact and expert depositions have helped secure favorable outcomes to a number of clients involved in high-stakes disputes.
Before joining Orrick, Ari was an associate with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP and served as a law clerk to Judge Richard M. Berman on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

For her litigation practice, Amy’s ability to distill the most complicated technology across an array of fields, including telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, cloud computing, and big data, into relatable, every day concepts that has made her successful in persuading judges and juries alike. She has led trial teams, litigated, and tried cases in state court in California, numerous District Courts, the International Trade Commission, and has briefed appeals before the 9th Circuit, the Federal Circuit, the Supreme Court of California, and the United States Supreme Court.
Whether litigating patent, trade secret, or IP contract disputes, Amy strives to put herself in her client’s shoes to ensure personalized results tailored to each client’s business objectives. As SAP’s General Counsel Landon Edmond commented to Acritas, Amy “has acquired a great knowledge of our business, and therefore you know you can trust her in a wide variety of topics and to get the right colleagues within her firm involved across the globe.”
Amy also provides comprehensive IP counseling on issues including trade secrets protection, employee departure investigations, freedom to operate analysis, licensing strategies, data privacy protection, and regulatory compliance. She has also conducted comprehensive patent portfolio reviews and assisted with IP corporate transactions.
In addition to her IP work, Amy devotes significant time to her pro bono work. For more than a decade, she has assisted domestic violence victims, as well as led Orrick’s Bay Area summer program that enables law clerks to be certified to argue in Family Court to obtain Temporary Restraining Orders for domestic violence clients.

Katie collaborates with employers to resolve challenging litigation and avoid risky compliance issues. She defends employers against PAGA, class, multi-plaintiff, and single plaintiff actions involving a variety of claims ranging from complex wage and hour disputes to contentious discrimination and harassment claims. Katie has jury trial experience and practices before a variety of forums, including state and federal trial courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and private arbitration and mediation. She understands the challenges that employers face and helps them to navigate ever-changing state, federal, and local laws. Katie has significant experience litigating and advising on wage and hour issues; exempt/non-exempt classification; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; arbitration agreements; independent contractor classification; business expense reimbursement; compensation; Section 17200, and more. She also works with clients to resolve employment disputes prior to litigation.
Katie earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif.

She has significant experience advising on financing rounds for early to late-stage technology companies, as well as on private equity investments and growth capital transactions. Her work spans sectors such as digital health, artificial intelligence, agritech, enterprise software, and consumer tech.
She regularly advises institutional investors and high-growth companies in structuring deals and navigating complex regulatory and governance issues in Italy and internationally.
Ginevra also counsels clients on M&A transactions, including acquisitions of strategic assets and controlling interests in high-growth businesses. Her experience includes deals across various sectors, including insurance, mobility, and SaaS, often involving dynamic, tech-driven targets and cross-border elements.
