Siobhan Handley is Orrick’s Chief Talent Officer. She is responsible for developing and executing talent and human resource strategies to advance the firm’s strategy and serve its clients.
In collaboration with the firm’s leadership team, she focuses on designing and implementing programs to recruit, inspire and advance the best legal and staff talent.
Siobhan previously served as Orrick’s Managing Director for Resources. In that role, she spearheaded the development of the firm’s innovative talent model—the first of its kind in a major law firm—which replaces the traditional associate lockstep advancement system with merit-based advancement. As chair of the firm’s Talent Committee, she oversees Orrick’s lawyer training and performance feedback program – which is one of the most rigorous in the market. She also has led the creation of a range of new lawyer and professional staff roles.
Siobhan brings to this role extensive experience on the front line of client service, having been a partner in the firm’s product liability litigation and mass tort defense group. For more than a decade, she was a member of the Orrick team that acted as National Counsel to Union Carbide Corporation in connection with asbestos-related personal injury lawsuits and served as lead trial counsel in cases across the country. Siobhan was one of the key trial counsel in the highly-publicized landmark trial in Texas State Court, Brazoria County, where Kelly-Moore Paint Company sued Union Carbide for $1.4 billion in compensatory damages and $4.2 billion in punitive damages that resulted in a complete defense verdict. In addition, she served as trial counsel for significant product liability cases for other clients including Wyeth and Flexible Products.
Giovanni Leoni, a senior associate in the Milan Office, is a member of the Tax group. Giovanni specializes in Italian and international tax law and tax litigation. He has acquired extensive expertise in general corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
Giovanni's previous work experience includes associate and partner at CBM & Partners LLP in Milan. Prior to joining CBM & Partners LLP, Giovanni worked as a trainee lawyer at Berenghi, Fiorini, Strobino in Milan.
Alison Roffi is Orrick's Deputy Chief Legal Officer and is located in the New York Office.
Alison is responsible for providing counsel on the firm's global legal affairs, including matters related to corporate governance, litigation, contracts, insurance, ethics and risk management.
In addition to her firm responsibilities, Alison represents clients in litigation and pro bono matters.
Lara Donnedieu de Vabres is an M&A and Private Equity lawyer in Orrick’s Paris office.
Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate, venture capital and private equity, notably on cross-border transactions.
Prior to joining Orrick, Lara worked on corporate and tax matters as a legal intern at Orrick’s Paris office, Jeantet's Paris office and Arsène Taxand's Paris Office.
George's practice focuses on securities and corporate governance litigation, related SEC investigations, and professional liability for accounting firms. He also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations on behalf of boards of directors of both public and private companies.
Chambers USA currently reports that “Greer displays 'exceptional judgment and strategic insight' and is considered 'very thoughtful about what the client wants and needs.' He is well known for his proficiency in complex securities defense litigation..." A prior edition of Chambers USA reported that “The market describes him as a ‘bright, strategic’ lawyer who ‘understands how to deal with people effectively’ and ‘gets great results.'" He has been named Securities Lawyer of the Year for Seattle in four of the five most recent years.
George has represented issuers, officers, directors, accountants and underwriters in class action securities litigation and in SEC investigations and enforcement proceedings. George's practice also includes representation of companies, boards of directors, Special Litigation Committees and individuals in corporate governance disputes.
George is an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington School of Law, where he teaches Legal Problem Solving in the Corporate Context.
Joanna Brown, a Senior Associate in the London office, is a member of the Real Estate Group. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate work, including landlord and tenant matters with particular emphasis on negotiating commercial leases and ancillary transactions.
Joanna provides real estate law and commercial management advice to clients in respect of major shopping centre developments, commercial office space and prime retail real estate across the UK.
Joanna also provides general advice to commercial real estate clients on dispute potential and advice in relation to commercial landlord and tenant matters.
Robert Rosenfeld, a partner in Orrick’s San Francisco office, focuses on antitrust, complex commercial litigation and financial institutions.
For more than a decade, Bob has represented Microsoft Corporation in numerous antitrust proceedings in California and elsewhere in the United States and abroad. In addition, he provides advice regarding antitrust issues to companies in Silicon Valley. He also has advised major health insurance companies and has litigated a number of cases involving the application of antitrust principles in the health care marketplace.
Bob's practice also includes complex business litigation, principally on behalf of major financial institutions. He has represented and counseled special litigation committees in the conduct of internal investigations and the prosecution and defense of derivative litigation. In 2011, Competition Law 360 listed him as one of 15 U.S. lawyers identified in a survey of corporate counsel as providing exceptional client service in antitrust matters. He also served as Chair of Orrick's Antitrust & Competition Group for over eight years.
From 1986 until 1992, Bob traveled to the Soviet Union on a number of occasions to participate with Soviet lawyers and academics in projects involving commercial matters and human rights issues.
Before joining Orrick, Bob practiced at Heller Ehrman LLP.
Soumaya Ouzzani is an Employment lawyer in Orrick’s Paris office.
She advises French and international companies on all employment law matters. She intervenes on collective and individual dismissals, as well as litigation and pre-litigation issues.
Prior to joining Orrick, Soumaya was a lawyer in the Employment, Pensions & Benefits department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for four years.
Luigi Colombo, senior counsel in the Milan office, is a member of the European Corporate Group. Luigi has extensive experience in Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, IPO’s and Real Estate Law.
He has assisted some of the most important Italian groups in a judicial and extra-judicial advisory capacity, including general corporate and corporate governance.
Prior to joining Orrick, Luigi was a partner at Studio Legale Tributario in Milan, a law firm associated with Ernst & Young International.

Ms. Alessia Ciranna, a senior associate in Orrick's Rome office, is a member of the Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.
She focuses her practice on Employment law assisting public, private and state-owned companies. She was on the team of Orrick's litigators who obtained an unprecedented judgment from the Italian Constitutional Court that neutralizes the effects of the rule contained in the "Decreto Salva Italia" (the "Save Italy" Decree), which had blocked certain pension revaluation for 2012 and 2013 for values exceeding Euro 1,300 per month.
She has gained significant experience in a wide range of labour law matters, from issues arising from acquisition of companies, restructuring and privatisation of entities with conversion of labour relations from the public to the ordinary regime, the opening and closing of businesses with strong involvement of manpower, outsourcing services, industrial relations with the unions at all levels, a range of ordinary advice in personnel management (recruitment with open-ended contract and certain, disciplinary proceedings, regulations and business agreements, transfers/staff secondments, exodus encouraged, consensual resolution agreements, etc.), concluding with the judicial activity in favour of public bodies (economic or otherwise) and private companies in each sector, including transnational character.

Barry S. Levin, a lawyer in Orrick's San Francisco office, is a member of the Litigation Group. His practice focuses on complex litigation with a special emphasis on insurance recovery matters.

Barry has broad first chair experience in trial and arbitration, ranging from trial counsel for Johns-Manville Corporation in its coverage litigation involving asbestos-related bodily injury claims to successful domestic and international arbitrations on behalf of financial institutions, hospitals, and hospitality companies.
Over the past 8 years, Barry has developed extensive experience in issues arising out of the financial crisis, including a range of issues relating to mortgage backed securities and lending practices.
He is a frequent lecturer in the area of litigation, insurance coverage and law firm management. Prior to joining Orrick, Barry was a shareholder at Heller Ehrman LLP.
