Donna Long is a managing associate in Orrick's Intellectual Property Group. She focuses her practice on patent litigation covering a broad range of technologies including internet and mobile applications, wireless communications, electronic security, and industrial design.
Donna's patent litigation experience includes motion practice, depositions, and working with experts. She also has worked on patent prosecution, inter partes reviews, copyright and trademark disputes, and antitrust litigation.
Donna also devotes her time to various pro bono matters. She has defended depositions of clients in Section 1983 civil rights and employment discrimination cases. During law school, Donna worked at the Juelsgaard Intellectual Property and Innovation Clinic, where she represented a recycling nonprofit in the rulemaking process for exemptions from the Digital Millennium Copyright Act relating to circumvention of digital locks.
Susan Long, a senior associate in the New York office, is a member of the Energy and Infrastructure Group.
Susan's practice focuses on representing lending institutions and sponsors in complex project finance transactions in the U.S. energy and infrastructure sector, including various participants in the renewable energy sector and public private partnerships.
Emanuela Longo, a senior associate in the Milan office, is a member of the European Corporate Group. Emanuela's practice focuses mainly in M&A and private equity, as well as on corporate law and commercial contracts.
In these areas, she represents primary enterprises, merchant banks and private equity funds both in domestic and in cross border transaction.
Before joining the firm in 2009, she had an 11 years experience in the M&A department of the law firm Vita Samory, Fabbrini e Associati in Milan.
Yolanda Yong is a senior associate in the Corporate group and has advised on a range of cross border and domestic transactions focusing on the energy and infrastructure sector. Yolanda advises across both the corporate and project documentation for energy and infrastructure projects and also advises on general corporate matters for companies.
Yolanda has significant experience in the energy and infrastructure space and is comfortable advising across construction, project documentation and corporate law matters which means she is able to provide a holistic service to clients.
Yolanda spent almost a year on secondment with a leading wind farm developer as the legal adviser to a joint venture UK offshore wind farm. Yolanda has also been seconded to the head office of a FTSE 250 construction and facilities management company and also to the corporate legal team at IBM.
Yolanda supports pro bono initiatives within the firm and is an active member of the Diversity and Inclusion committee.
Jason Lang is a member of the Patent Litigation practice. Mr. Lang’s practice includes both litigation and counseling in a wide spectrum of technologies, including semiconductor devices, communication technologies, and software applications. With respect to semiconductor devices, Mr. Lang has been working on circuit, fabrication, and memory matters consistently for the last 10 years, including for clients such as Micron, Intel, Hitachi and Maxim.
Mr. Lang has litigated cases before district courts, state courts, and the International Trade Commission. He also been lead counsel in, and managed, parallel patent office proceedings, including inter partes reexaminations, ex parte reexaminations and inter partes reviews. He has been a top-filer in inter partes reviews. Recent matters include work with memories (DRAM, Flash and hard drives), semiconductor packaging, and design software.
His counseling work includes developing defensive and offensive intellectual property strategies in view of potential competitor litigation. He also assists clients in product launches, patent acquisition, licensing and portfolio management.
Before focusing on intellectual property litigation and counseling, Mr. Lang spent a year working for the District Attorney’s Office in Atlanta, Georgia, where he had considerable exposure to numerous trials.
Mr. Lang’s public service commitments include steady work for the San Jose Housing Clinic. Mr. Lang recently first-chaired a four-day trial for a client of the clinic.
Mayling Leong is a senior associate in the Sacramento office and a member of the firm's nationally recognized Public Finance Department. Mayling has broad experience serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter's counsel and corporation's counsel in financings for 501(c)(3) borrowers, with a focus on the health care sector.
In addition, Mayling serves as issuer’s counsel to the California Statewide Communities Development Authority and the California Public Finance Authority for 501(c)(3) conduit financings, and as special counsel to the California State Treasurer’s Office in transactions for bonds insured through the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s Cal-Mortgage Loan Insurance Program.

Yong-Nam Jun, an Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office, is a member of the firm’s Private Investment Funds Department. Yong-Nam focuses on the formation of private equity and venture capital funds and on transactions undertaken by such funds.
Yong-Nam has extensive experience in the fund formation process. He is actively involved in all stages of fund formation, providing advice on terms and marketing strategy, negotiating with placement agents, drafting fund and sponsor documents, negotiating with investors, and providing advice on internal sponsor and management company arrangements. He also represents private equity and venture funds in their investment transactions.
Among his clients are both U.S. and Asia-based private equity and venture fund sponsors and leading institutional investors (including sovereign wealth funds, funds of funds, pension plans and private endowments) that invest in buyout, hedge, real estate, infrastructure and venture capital funds.
Yong-Nam has spoken or moderated at a number of industry conferences in both Korea and the United States and has presented at Harvard Business School and Seoul National University.
He also represents emerging high-technology companies and venture funds in financing transactions.
Before joining Orrick, Yong-Nam was an Of Counsel at DLA Piper in Los Angeles from 2011 to 2014, and a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Los Angeles from 2008 to 2011.
