Lauren Seaton is an associate in Orrick's Orange County office. Lauren focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense and internal investigations.
She represents companies and individuals in a variety of litigation matters, including white collar criminal defense, intellectual property matters, and general litigation. Prior to joining the White Collar and Securities Litigation Group, Lauren was a member of Orrick's Intellectual Property Group. She currently maintains a substantial trademark prosecution portfolio, counseling clients with the acquisition and protection of their intellectual property rights.

Matthew Sebastian is a Senior Analytics Team Lead in the Discovery Analytics and Review Services group at Orrick. Matthew works with litigation attorneys and third party vendors to manage the review and production of documents relevant to investigations and litigation.
The Discovery Analytics and Review Services group specializes in using technology and project management discipline to assist firm attorneys with litigation and transactional tasks, particularly tasks that involve large volumes of data and documents.
This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. Matthew also manages teams of specialists performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs. He assists the litigation team to prepare for trial, including drafting deposition summaries, factual memoranda and exhibit charts. Matthew also works with practice office attorneys on transactional tasks, including contract review and due diligence.
Erica Sechrist, Senior Strategist in the Washington, D.C., office, uses her previous experience working with national party committees and in the private sector to bring a unique perspective and understanding when tackling issues our clients face at both the national and state level.
Erica has extensive experience providing advice and developing strategic programs for leadership committees and associations.
Before joining Orrick, Erica worked for Advance America as Director of Government Affairs. In this role, she negotiated legislation with elected officials and regulators and developed strategic relationships with community leaders while running point for Advance America with National Political Committees. Prior to Advance America, Erica served as Finance Director of the Republican State Leadership Committee, Executive Director of the Republican Attorneys General Association, and Chairman’s Foundation Representative of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. In her last year at the Republican State Leadership Committee, the committee raised over $30 million and made historic gains in the 2010 elections, flipping 20 state chambers to Republican control as well as netting six Attorneys General, seven Secretaries of State and three independently elected Lieutenant Governors.
Erin Sedloff helps start-ups and high-growth technology companies successfully raise capital and build their business from formation through exit.
Erin represents early- and late-stage companies throughout all stages of growth and development, including formation, cross-border restructuring, venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate and securities law matters. She has experience advising founders on structuring their companies and frequently counsels executive teams on maintaining and managing a successful board of directors.
In addition to her practice, Erin dedicates time to supporting the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Claremont McKenna College where she is a guest lecturer for the CIE Fellows program. Further, Erin spends her time on projects that address her interest in global economic development, and she is an active member of Orrick’s Impact Finance Group, which supports investors and entrepreneurs focused on social and environmental impact.
Before joining Orrick, Erin was a litigation associate focusing on complex commercial disputes and real estate litigation. Prior to receiving her legal education, Erin worked for a global travel company where she was responsible for field and office operations, product development, and management for global itineraries, including throughout Central America and Alaska.
John Seegal, a partner in the San Francisco office, is a member of the firm’s Corporate Group. He concentrates his practice on corporate counseling with a focus on buying and selling companies and helping companies to raise capital through public and private offerings of securities.He has developed particular knowledge and experience in acting as special counsel for sellers and buyers of middle-market companies. This area of practice includes advising buyers and sellers with respect to acquisition strategy, leading or participating in negotiations, structuring friendly mergers and tender offers, and assisting in the smooth implementation of the acquisition transaction, the integration of the acquired business, and the protection of the interests of the shareholders, directors and management of the acquired business.
Kristin's practice focuses on the acquisition and sale of domestic and international renewable energy projects as well as project financing (including tax equity financing arrangements) in the renewable energy sector.
Kristin's experience spans projects across the United States and Canada and includes award-winning transactions.
Peter Seel is a member of the Structured Finance Group in Orrick's New York office.
His experience includes the representation of investment banks, asset managers and issuers in connection with collateralized loan obligations as well as other financial institutions in a variety of other structured financial products.
Mark Seneca, a Corporate partner in the Silicon Valley office, is a member of Orrick’s M&A and Private Equity Group as well as its Technology Companies Group. Mark has dedicated his legal career to the M&A specialty, with experience in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions involving both public and private companies in domestic and cross-border deals.
Mark has a particular focus on the technology sector, having led hundreds of buy-side and sell-side transactions involving prominent high-tech serial acquirers, unicorns and venture back companies. His sell-side work involves multiple acquisitions by Google, Facebook, Salesforce.com, VMware, Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Adobe, Yahoo! and Twitter. These deals include his high profile work for Cruise Automation in its acquisition by General Motors, Nest Labs in its US$3.2 billion acquisition by Google, and Instagram in its US$1.0 billion acquisition by Facebook, which was ranked one of the top 10 largest valued private tech M&A deals in the U.S. in 2012. In an interview with Bloomberg Law for a “Rainmakers” episode, Mark provided a substantive analysis of the Instagram deal, including its industry precedent and influence (click here).
On the buy-side, Mark has served as lead M&A counsel for top public company acquirers (Yelp, Google, Yahoo! and Intellisync) as well as private company serial acquirers (Stripe, Pinterest and Social Finance).
Laure Seror is a banking and finance lawyer in Orrick's Paris office.
Laure advises French and international banks and financial institutions as well as sponsors and borrowers on French and cross-border structured finance, infrastructure and real estate finance transactions.
Prior to joining Orrick, Laure was an associate for five years in the Banking & Finance department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Sabrina Setini, an associate and Italian qualified lawyer in the Rome office, is a member of the Finance Group. Sabrina's practice focuses on corporate finance, structured finance and Debt Capital Markets.
Sabrina specializes in advising prominent Italian and international banks and large corpororations.
Prior to joining Orrick, Sabrina worked in the legal department at the Renewable Energies Division at the Italian Ministry of Environment, where she gained specific energy law experience.
Sabrina gained a Ph.D. in European Private Law and Compared Judicial Systems at the University "Roma TRE" of Rome; and she is fluent in English.
