Chris Richart has 15 years of experience handling appeals and litigation in federal and state court and arbitrations. His practice is predominately patent litigation and general civil appellate work.His appellate experience includes appeals to the Texas intermediate appellate courts, the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Seventh and Federal Circuits.
Peter advises energy sector developers and investors on project development and financing matters, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects.
Peter has deep experience in both development and financing aspects of energy storage projects. He represented the sponsor in the first non-recourse financing of a portfolio of behind-the-meter projects, the 2017 IJGlobal North America Energy Storage Deal of the Year. He has worked on utility scale storage projects with a total capacity of more than 80 MWs (240MWhs) for utility and non-utility clients.
Peter’s utility-scale solar experience ranges from PPA, EPC, construction, equipment supply, O&M, interconnection, and shared facilities agreements to tax equity, debt financing, and M&A. He also represents clients in developing and investing in community solar and C&I solar projects.
Prior to joining Orrick, Peter was an associate with another international law firm, where he worked on energy and aviation financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
Raul Ricozzi is an Italian qualified lawyer and a partner in Orrick's Rome office. He is a member of the Banking & Finance Group.
Raul has 20+ years experience in project financing, leveraged, asset and shipping financing, debt issues (with a particular focus on "green bonds"), and securitisation, mainly acting for banks and underwriters.
He has worked on cross-border transactions in many countries, including in Africa.
Raul spent one year (2005) in Orrick's Structured Finance group in New York, working mainly on cash and synthetic CDOs and RMBS transactions.
He was also a visiting lawyer in a leading Italian law firm in Brussels (Belgium) in 2000, having been chosen by the University of Rome, "Tor Vergata," for the "EU Leonardo da Vinci" scholarship.
In 1994, Raul attended one semester in "Johannes Gutenberg Universität" of Mainz (Germany) through an EU "Erasmus" scholarship.
J.R. Riddell is a seasoned trial lawyer in the Sacramento office with a proven track record handling high stakes and bet-the-company matters for clients across the country and around the globe.
J.R.'s practice covers all aspects of commercial and business disputes, from preliminary investigations through trial and appeal. While many of his engagements involve high-profile claims of trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract, he also routinely prosecutes and defends claims in a variety of other subject areas, including governmental compliance actions, product liability, inadequate product warnings (e.g., California's Proposition 65) and torts. Most of J.R.'s engagements have resolved favorably prior to trial (e.g., through motion practice and/or mediation), but where trial was merited the results achieved on behalf of his clients have been the subject of multiple awards and accolades in the press (including nationally-recognized top verdicts).
Beyond litigation, J.R. developed a niche practice focused on the business side of mixed martial arts (MMA), and provides legal guidance and business advice to a wide variety of MMA clients. He is a recognized authority on various MMA legal issues and has served as a consultant, conference speaker and sports writer, with numerous articles published on ESPN.com and its MMA affiliate, Sherdog.com. He has also trained in various MMA disciplines at Ultimate Fitness, home to many top-ranked fighters and Team Alpha Male.
J.R. is an active participant in Orrick’s pro bono and associate training programs, and has served as a continuing legal education instructor.

The Daily Journal also named their two jury trial wins for SpaceX as top verdicts in 2016 and 2017, both affirmed on appeal. George Rigo is an M&A lawyer, based in Orrick’s Paris office. Specializing in corporate law, he is devoted to advising European and Asian industrial groups and holding companies on their mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, notably in the sectors of energy, food and car manufacturing, and services.

George has a very strong expertise in the renewable energy sector, working alongside major players in the market and advising on key projects in France. George mainly advises on the financing and acquisition of windfarm and solar projects, lately he has counseled 123 Ventures, Impax, Nord LB and EOS Holding on different transactions.
George’s extensive experience on cross-border transactions includes negotiating and drafting international contracts or commercial partnerships with an emphasis on litigation issues succeeding the implementation of such agreements. Recently, George has advised Biostime, a Chinese manufacturer of nutritional and baby care products, listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange, regarding the signature of an industrial and commercial cooperation agreement with a French dairy cooperative.

Emmanuel Ringeval, partner in Orrick’s Paris office, is a banking and finance lawyer.
Emmanuel represents French and international financial institutions, corporates, private equity funds and alternative capital providers on French and cross borders transactions. He focuses on leveraged finance, direct lending and restructuring transactions.
Emmanuel has also developed a substantial experience in the energy and infrastructure sector in the context of complex financing and refinancing transactions involving loan and/or bond financings.

Jörg Ritter, a partner in the Munich office, is a member of the Corporate Group. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, corporate litigation, German and international tax law and bankruptcy law.

Adam Rizzo is a Senior Associate in the Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution group who joined from another international firm in July 2016.
Adam acts for clients in respect of internal investigations and proceedings from US and UK regulators. Adam has represented clients in regulatory and disciplinary investigations and proceedings by the Public Companies Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US as well as the UK's Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Adam is also experienced in handling High Court litigation, and has resolved disputes for clients by way of arbitration and mediation. In this context, his areas of focus are professional negligence and policy coverage but he has also acted for companies who are active in the construction, mining, renewable energy and private equity sectors.
Clem's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and on complex commercial cases with a high-technology component. He has successfully tried a wide variety of civil and criminal cases to verdict in state and federal courts and in arbitration.
