John R. Myers, a partner in the Sacramento office, is a member of the firm's nationally acclaimed Public Finance Department. He is the lead partner for the firm's national health care finance practice, having focused in this area for more than 35 years.
John also has experience with virtually every type of public finance technique utilized by local governments, and has significant current practices in the areas of public power and revenue bonds.
John's health care finance practice includes serving as bond counsel, underwriters' counsel or issuer's counsel for more than 400 health care issues totaling over $40 billion since 1998. These financings include work with many of the largest and most respected health care systems in the country, including Ascension Health, Catholic Health Initiatives, Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, MedStar Health, SSM Health Care and Sutter Health, among others.
Thomas Myers, a New York Public Finance partner, has extensive experience in financings for various New York municipalities, school districts, and fire districts in connection with over $6 billion in general obligation financings.
Tom's practice also focuses on financings for industrial development bonds, local development corporations, housing bonds, resource recovery and water/sewer authority revenue bonds. He has extensive experience as underwriter’s and placement agent’s counsel on a wide variety of public finance matters. In addition, Tom was special counsel in connection with tax lien and tobacco settlement securitizations by various New York counties.
