Charles C. Adams, Jr., is the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Finland (2015-2017) and Global Co-Head of Orrick's International Arbitration Practice Group based in Geneva.
Charles' experience spans four decades at the highest levels of international dispute resolution, in more than 300 international arbitration proceedings as counsel and chairman or party-arbitrator in arbitral fora all over the world.
Charles also has 10 years’ membership on the Board of Trustees of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
D. Isabel Ajuria is a lawyer in the San Francisco office and a member of
the Corporate Group, whose focus is primarily on representing high
growth technology companies in general formation, venture capital and
private equity financings, and mergers and acquisitions.
During her time at NYU School of Law, Isabel was a legal intern for Gucci, and a Managing Editor of the N.Y.U. Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law.
Daniela Andreatta, special counsel in the Milan office, has an extensive M&A and corporate background and a broad experience in bankruptcy-related matters.
Daniela practice covers cross-border corporate transactions and the so called “special situations”, which include investments in distressed assets (non-performing loans, debt and/or equity in listed/unlisted distressed companies), buy-outs from insolvency proceedings and bankruptcy-related litigation. In recent years, she has assisted banks, Italian and foreign investors and debtors in complex deals of corporate restructurings relating to the financial indebtedness and concordato proceedings.
Prior to joining Orrick, Daniela was a member of Studio Legale Tributario in Milan, a law firm Associated with Ernst & Young International.
Patricia is Of Counsel in our San
Francisco office, and is an experienced advisor on the design, implementation
and taxation of qualified and nonqualified retirement benefits, deferred
compensation and health and welfare benefits. Patricia also regularly advises
benefit plan committees on their fiduciary duties.
Patricia is a trusted resource for her clients and leads complex negotiations to provide innovative solutions with regard to benefits design, administration and compliance. Patricia provides substantive expertise in the defense of benefits litigation matters, has substantial experience with the employee benefit aspects of sales and acquisitions of businesses and is an expert on the Affordable Care Act and HIPAA.
Patricia regularly advises general counsel, executive management, CEOs, boards of directors, retirement and health plan committees and key leadership of Fortune 500 companies on complex questions and issues regarding the operation of their domestic and international employee benefit plans and compliance with federal and state law.
Before joining the firm, Patricia acted as Senior Manager of National Employee Benefits at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and formerly served as Senior Counsel-Benefits and Executive Compensation at AirTouch Communications, Inc. (now Vodafone).Patricia also acted as Legislation Counsel on the Joint Committee on Taxation within the United States Congress working extensively on the Clinton health care proposal and other benefits legislation. Prior to the Joint Committee, Patricia was an associate at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop).
Stephen Ashley is a partner in the New York office and a member of the firm's Capital Markets practice. He advises clients on a wide range of securities law matters and regularly represents both issuers and underwriters in both domestic and cross-border capital markets transactions.
Stephen's experience includes public offerings and private placements of common and preferred equity and investment grade, high yield and convertible debt securities, as well as liability management transactions such as exchange offers, tender offers and consent solicitations. He also advises clients on various compliance, corporate governance, stock exchange listing and other general corporate matters, while working closely with Orrick’s M&A and Restructuring teams on securities related issues.

Margaux Azoulay is a Tax lawyer in Orrick's Paris office.
She assists French and foreign companies on business-related taxation aspects as well as the tax aspects of their mergers and acquisitions or restructurings.
Margaux's expertise further extends to real estate taxation, where she advises companies owning real estate assets (property companies, developers, insurance companies) and investors (funds and credit institutions). Andrea Ball, a senior associate in the New York office, is a member of the Tax Group. Andrea focuses her practice on the taxation of municipal finance, and she also has experience counseling a variety of nonprofit organizations on federal tax law and corporate governance.
In her municipal finance practice, Andrea has worked extensively with governmental issuers such as the New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority and the County of Nassau, New York, as bond counsel, advising on private use issues, arbitrage and rebate rules, and the sizing of working capital borrowings. In addition, Andrea has worked on numerous financings for cultural institutions, universities, and hospitals as bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel, as well as on multi-family housing and other private activity bond transactions.
In her nonprofit practice, Andrea formed and obtained recognition of tax-exempt status for charitable and educational organizations, as well as trade associations and social welfare groups.
