Julien Beloeil is an M&A, Private Equity and Equity Capital Market lawyer based in Orrick’s Paris office.

Julien assists listed and unlisted companies, financial institutions, investors and founders in cross-border or domestic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, acquisition of stakes, strategic partnerships, as well as public tender offers.

Emmanuel Benard Partner Employment Law & Litigation, Restructuring


Emmanuel Bénard is an employment lawyer and Office Leader of the Paris’ office, respected for his deep experience with challenging restructuring and complex collective litigation, he is also Head of the Employment Law Practice for Europe.

Emmanuel represents numerous French and international companies on all aspects of employment law including international and cross-border issues.

His practice focuses on reorganizations, collective redundancies. He notably advised key players of the Financial, Metal, Food and Beverages, Pharmaceutical, Technology, Leisure and Music Industries in implementing economic dismissals and voluntary departures. He also assists these clients with employee representation and collective bargaining and sensitive individual cases.

Emmanuel has a strong proficiency in collective litigation as well as criminal litigation and currently handles a number of sensitive cases arising from works council and health and safety committee information consultation procedure, professional elections, collective bargaining agreements and employees performance appraisal system.

With a long-standing experience on landmark M&A, he regularly supports HR Directors in dealing with works council information and consultation procedures and transfer of employees triggered by such complex projects, helping them achieving their strategic objectives.

Olivier Bernard, partner in Orrick’s Paris office, is a member of the Banking & Finance group.

Olivier advises French and international financial institutions, insurers, funds and other alternative capital providers, as well as borrowers, on structured finance, debt capital markets and securitization transactions, in relation to a variety of assets, including real estate, transportation fleets and infrastructure.

Geoffroy Berthon Partner Energy, Infrastructure


Geoffroy Berthon is an Energy and Infrastructure Partner in Orrick's Paris office with a focus on public law and public contracts (notably concessions and PPP) as well as regulatory matters.

Geoffroy Berthon has an extensive experience in several key public infrastructure projects, railroad work infrastructures and hydroelectric concessions as well as renewable energies and marine sectors. He also works on regulatory and litigation matters notably in the energy sector.

Cécile's practice focuses on domestic and international litigation and arbitration, as well as white collar defense and investigations, securities and M&A litigation, and alternative dispute resolution methods. Cécile advises French and international companies, and their directors before civil, commercial, and criminal Courts in France. Cecile also acts in commercial arbitration proceedings whether domestic or international, under ICC Rules of Arbitration or in ad hoc proceedings. 

Cécile also acts in pro bono matters, and has in particular acted in favor of women's rights before French Courts. Cécile has been a member of the criminal defense bar in Paris for several years and regularly acts before the French criminal Courts for indigent individuals. Cécile also acts as Administrative Secretary to arbitral tribunals.

Etienne Boursican Partner M&A and Private Equity, Corporate


Etienne Boursican, partner in Orrick’s Paris office, is a member of the M&A and Private Equity Group.

Etienne focuses on public M&A and capital markets. In that context, Etienne regularly advises investors or listed companies on tender offers, sale and purchase of equity stakes, private placements and public offerings including initial public offerings (IPOs). He also has significant experience in private M&A transactions, acting indifferently on the buy-side or the sell-side.

Etienne also has particular experience in corporate governance matters. In this regard he advises issuers as well as minority shareholders in proxy fights, and represents issuers and individuals in stock market-related litigation.

Etienne’s clients include industrial groups active in a variety of sectors ranging from automotive or agribusiness to energy, real estate or retail. Some of his recent notable engagements include advising Peugeot’s historical shareholders FFP and Etablissements Peugeot Frères on the car manufacturer’s EUR 3 billion capital increase and partnership with China’s Dongfeng Motor Group, or advising Alstom’s board of directors in the company’s EUR 12.35 billion sale of its energy division to General Electric. Charles Briand Partner Tax


Charles Briand, Partner in Orrick Paris Office, is a member of the Tax Group.

Charles focuses on tax law, and more specifically on the tax aspects of transactions.

He advises multinational companies and private equity funds on a broad range of international tax matters, including French acquisitions abroad or foreign ones in France.

He also advises his clients on the tax structuring of domestic and cross border acquisitions as well as reorganizations.

Prior to joining Orrick in 2017, Charles was transaction Tax lawyer at Ernst &Young in Paris and he also practiced 18 months in EY New York office.
