Jesse Albani, a senior associate in the San Francisco office, is a member of the Public Finance Department.
Jesse has experience on a broad spectrum of tax-exempt and taxable financings, including advising issuers, developers and lenders on financings for multifamily housing developments, solid waste disposal facilities and general governmental obligations.
Stephanie Albrecht, a senior associate in Orrick's Los Angeles office, focuses her practice on regulatory and internal investigations and complex litigation.
Stephanie has experience representing companies and individuals in SEC and DOJ investigations involving potential violations of the securities laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the False Claims Act, consumer protection laws, and other federal and state laws. Stephanie also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and representing clients in securities, trade secrets, employment, and other complex commercial litigation matters.
Additionally, Stephanie devotes her practice to pro bono work, representing clients in adoption, immigration, and civil rights matters.
Stephanie is a regular contributor to Orrick's Securities Litigation, Investigations and Enforcement blog and an Associate Editor of The World in US Courts: Orrick's Quarterly Review of Decisions Applying US Law to Global Business and Cross-Border Activities.
During law school, Stephanie was a law clerk in the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Bill Alderman, a Senior Counsel in the San Francisco office, concentrates his practice on business litigation and dispute resolution. He has broad experience in matters involving federal and state securities, corporate governance, technology, trade secrets, business torts and international disputes.
Bill is additionally recognized for the results he has obtained in insurance coverage, employee benefits, and federal and state antitrust disputes. He commits a substantial part of his time to pro bono representation and to representation of the firm.
Representing clients in class and derivative actions, Bill's approach is to minimize his clients’ overall cost through careful strategic planning, dispositive motions and aggressive negotiation. Only three of the many securities class actions he has defended have resulted in any settlement payment by his client or its carrier. Of his nearly 100 motions to dismiss securities class, mass or derivative actions since 1996, more than 90 percent were granted in their entirety (most with prejudice), while others were granted in part or led to a successful motion for summary judgment.

Nick represents leading institutional real estate investors in a wide array of real estate transactions. He has significant experience in advising on, negotiating and closing acquisitions and dispositions of a wide array of real estate assets, commercial leases, secured financing transactions and joint ventures.
Prior to joining Orrick, Nick worked as a bankruptcy and finance associate in Chicago.
Colby Allsbrook is Of Counsel in the New York office and a member of the Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.
Colby has deep experience in financial services, asset-backed security and mortgage-related litigation, and has been at the forefront of litigation arising out of the financial crisis.
Prior to joining Orrick, he was a Director and senior litigation counsel at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, where he chaired the firm's Mortgage Securities Litigation Task Force and helped direct the bank's litigation response to the mortgage crisis. He previously practiced law in the New York offices of King & Spalding and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
Simon focuses on M&A and commercial contracts in the energy sector, with considerable experience in both generation and transmission assets. He is particularly well known for renewable energy work, having advised numerous clients on acquisitions, disposals, complex shareholder arrangements and project agreements in the context of renewables investments and financings.

Howard Altarescu is a partner in Orrick's Finance group. He co-leads the Firm’s global Fintech team, which is focused on advising a wide array of fintech platforms and other businesses.
Howard has previously served as Orrick's Finance Sector Leader, responsible for implementing the firm's strategy to provide distinctive transactional, litigation and regulatory services to financial institution clients globally, as well as co-head of the firm’s Finance Business Unit. In these roles, Howard has a broad strategic, advisory and business development role at the firm, drawing on many years of experience, both in law firms and as a banker helping clients develop innovative financial solutions to meet their objectives. Howard currently advises bank and non-bank financial institutions in connection with innovative capital markets, debt financing and other transactions, as well as on the implications of financial markets regulation and developments. Most recently, Howard has focused with clients on the LIBOR transition and has authored a number of client alerts on the transition that can be found at orrick.com/LIBOR. In addition, Howard is co-chair of the Finance, Securitization and Safe Contract working group of MOBI (the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative), which will assess the potential value proposition of blockchain, work on standards, and potentially, help coordinate logistics necessary to carry out a pilot program for use cases in finance and securitization.
Mona Amer, an Of Counsel in Orrick's Los Angeles office, is a member of the Litigation Group and the White Collar Criminal Defense and Corporate Investigations Group. Her practice focuses on white collar criminal defense and corporate investigations.
Mona also has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts involving breach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices.
Candice Andalia is a Senior Associate in Orrick's New York office and a member of the firm's Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Mass Torts and Product Liability, and Trials practices. Candice focuses on managing and coordinating national defense and strategy for clients in the manufacturing, technology, and financial sectors, with particular focus on developing and implementing strategy as it pertains to expert testimony.
She represents clients in all phases of complex multi-party, consolidated, and class action litigation, and has handled significant actions involving the prescription drug and consumer products industries in mediation, arbitration, and federal and state courts, both at the trial and appellate levels. Candice also has extensive experience in white collar, investigations, and securities litigation including allegations of off-label promotion, anti-kickback statute violations, False Claims Act violations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, and other issues related to sales, marketing, and pricing practices. Shane zealously advocates for his clients by leveraging his legal acumen and experience working as an engineer and an educator to develop the strategy and arguments best suited to achieving his client's goals.
Shane has experience working on patent disputes in Federal Court and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board for globally-recognized companies in the domains of software, communications, consumer electronics, and other high-tech fields. He understands what it takes to be successful in complex patent litigation and wields his unique experience and education to gain the best result possible for his clients. Prior to joining Orrick's Intellectual Property Group Shane practiced in Silicon Valley as an associate at a global law firm and focused on patent litigation.
Prior to law school, Shane was an electrical engineer and worked both in Japan and Canada, developing test systems, embedded hardware, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software. Shane also worked as an educator in rural Japan, an experience that informs his ability to explain complex topics both clearly and persuasively.
Shane also has a passion for community service and pro bono representation. Among his efforts, he assisted with the representation of plaintiffs in a Voting Rights Act, Section 2, litigation, and advised a small business owner and drafted agreements and contracts.
Krystal Anderson, a lawyer in Orrick's Orange County office, focuses her practice on complex business litigation and dispute resolution.
Krystal concentrates principally on business tort and unfair competition-based disputes, as well as copyright, trademark and trade secret disputes. Krystal has experience representing companies and individuals as both plaintiffs and defendants throughout the litigation process, including having conducted pre-litigation counseling and investigations.
Additionally, Krystal devotes time to pro bono work, representing multiple clients in immigration-related matters, is an active member of the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law, the Iranian American Bar Association of Orange County, and the Federal Bar Association Orange County Young Lawyers Division, and regularly contributes to various publications, including Orrick’s Trade Secrets Watch blog.
During law school, Krystal completed an externship for Honorable Judge Alex Kozinski at the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, served as President of the Cornell Law Students Association, was the Senior Cornell Law Library Research Assistant, and received academic awards including the CALI Award in Remedies.
