Aoife Duffy is an associate in the White Collar, Investigations, Securities Litigation & Compliance group of Orrick's San Francisco office.  

Her practice focuses on the representation of corporations, major financial institutions, and individuals in securities and complex commercial actions, regulatory investigations, and internal investigations.   Aoife has also successfully represented a Bay Area biotech company in one of the first Defend Trade Secrets Act cases in the Northern District of California.  

Aoife is dedicated to providing pro bono services, including through the International Refugee Assistance Project.  While a law student, Aoife served as Managing Editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics at New York University School of Law. 

    • Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC: Aoife represents Credit Suisse in contract and securities lawsuits involving residential-mortgage backed securities (RMBS).
    • AllCells v. Cepheus Bio.: Represented AllCells, a Bay Area biotech company, in obtaining a preliminary injunction against a competitor formed by two former employees in one of the first DTSA cases in Northern District of California.
    • UCSF: Member of Orrick team that conducted an internal investigation on behalf of UCSF concerning alleged False Claims Act violations contained in an under seal whistleblower complaint.  The results of the investigation were presented to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the FBI and the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The government elected not to intervene in the lawsuit, and plaintiff's individual action was ultimately dismissed with prejudice.
