The World in U.S. Courts

Orrick's Quarterly Review of Decisions Applying U.S. Law to Global Business and Cross-Border Activities

The World in U.S. Courts: Orrick's Quarterly Review of Decisions Applying U.S. Law to Global Business and Cross-Border Activities, assembles in one place descriptions and summaries of recent U.S. judicial decisions discussing when United States courts and agencies will take jurisdiction over disputes arising out of conduct occurring outside the U.S. Every three months, this first-of-its-kind publication will contain a comprehensive discussion of the latest law on the assertion of jurisdiction over non-U.S. companies and individuals, and the "extraterritorial" application of U.S. law in all of the areas of most importance to non-U.S. companies, including among others securities litigation, anti-bribery (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), anti-racketeering ("RICO"), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA"), intellectual property (patents, trademarks, and copyrights), and antitrust. We hope the report will be an invaluable resource in helping companies and individuals understand when their actions risk entanglement in U.S. litigation, and how their activities can be organized to minimize that possibility.
