Dr. Lynch's practice centers on representing clients involved in patent litigation and appeals, as well as U.S. Patent and Trademark Office post-grant proceedings. His experience encompasses numerous aspects of the life sciences, including small and large molecule pharmaceuticals, cellular immunotherapies, medical devices, and diagnostics. He has represented biopharmaceutical clients of all sizes, from start-ups to multinational corporations.
Dr. Lynch also counsels clients on pre-litigation strategies relating to their intellectual property, offering advice on matters including patentability, freedom-to-operate, patent prosecution and portfolio management, and licensing.
Dr. Lynch received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, where he graduated #1 in the evening program and top 5% overall while working for another international law firm.
Before law school, Dr. Lynch earned his Ph.D. in cell biology from Columbia University. His dissertation examined the biophysical aspects of cellular motility using advanced microscopy and imaging techniques.

Patrick has represented a number of clients in high-stakes litigation, including bankruptcy proceedings for the cities of Stockton, CA and Vallejo, CA, which received extensive press coverage. Patrick has also represented the California Insurance Commissioner in numerous matters, including the conservation and liquidation of insolvent insurance companies.
Additionally, Patrick has represented start-up clients in nationwide regulatory and legislative campaigns in conjunction with Orrick's Public Policy Group and has also worked with Orrick's Appellate Group on multiple cases before the Ninth Circuit and Supreme Court.

Christine utilizes her extensive project management experience to work with Orrick team members in developing, implementing and managing the firm's overall audit response program.
In addition to her firm responsibilities, Christine works with Orrick's Finance teams on various transactional matters, including performing due diligence and drafting deal documents and opinions for collateralized loan and debt obligations, synthetic collateralized debt obligations and various other financial products.

Lauren works on single plaintiff and class action employment matters, defending against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She also assists clients with conducting internal investigations and provides clients with guidance on pay equity-related matters.
Prior to joining Orrick, Lauren spent more than seven years as an associate in the litigation group of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP representing clients in complex litigation matters, including commercial and employment actions. Lauren's practice at Sullivan & Cromwell also included an active pro bono docket focusing on reproductive rights and LGBTQ and immigration issues.

Manaf advises investors (debt funds, insurance companies, financial institutions, etc.), arrangers and issuers (corporates, fintechs and start-ups), in connection with debt transactions such as Euro Private Placements (Euro PP), Eurobonds, sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds, corporate hybrids, establishment and update of EMTN programs, French commercial paper and liability management transactions.
Manaf contributed to the Euro PP (Euro Private Placement) working group composed of several professional organizations under the leadership of Banque de France, the French Treasury and the Paris IDF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, designed to facilitate financing for intermediate-size enterprises (ISE) and SMEs to define a more harmonized legal framework for Euro PP transactions.
Prior to joining Orrick, Manaf worked for several years at leading international law firms in Paris. At his previous firm, he was the head of its Paris Debt Capital Markets practice.

Kristin focuses on U.S. and international trademark and copyright counseling and prosecution, advising on branding strategies, and resolving trademark-related disputes for clients in a variety of industries, including food and beverage products, retail and clothing, consumer products, cloud computing, software and Internet services, social networking and online gaming. She has extensive experience in advising and representing clients in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, Kristin maintains an active pro bono practice in the areas of trademark and copyright law, homelessness, housing, and domestic violence.
Prior to her legal career, Kristin held various executive level positions in both the non-profit sector and local government.

David’s practice focuses on complex copyright and trademark matters in retail, entertainment, and media adjacent spaces. He also possesses multiple years of experience litigating tech-based trade secret and patent infringement issues involving software programs, computer hardware, digital communication systems, and medical devices.
Prior to joining Orrick, David served as a law clerk for the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II in the Central District of California as well as for the Honorable Liam P. Hardy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Between federal clerkships, David worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in their IP litigation practice group where he engaged in all stages of litigation on behalf of various Fortune 50 companies.
In addition to his civilian career, David previously served as an Infantry Officer and continues to serve part-time as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army National Guard.
David is also passionate about serving his larger community and has an active pro bono practice focusing on civil litigation, veteran assistance, and refugee legal aid.
