Orrick ranked #1 in four of the largest and most competitive legal marketplaces in the U.S. in the latest American Lawyer 2016 Summer Associates Survey, while also jumping up four spots from last year to 11th nationally. The firm was top-rated in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

“We had a terrific summer class this year with students from many different law schools and backgrounds,” said Lisa Simpson, partner in charge of law school hiring. “We are thrilled that we were able to provide them with such positive and satisfying experiences.”

The American Lawyer surveyed rising second- and third-year law school students who participated in 10-week summer programs at law firms this summer. Roughly 4,200 would-be lawyers responded. In NY, SF, DC, and Silicon Valley Orrick earned a perfect average overall score of 5 on a 1-to-5 grading scale in nine areas, which measure the quality of work performed by associates, training and guidance offered by the firm, and interactions with partners and associates, among other factors.

Earlier this month, Orrick ranked #6 nationwide in The American Lawyer’s 2016 Midlevel Associate Survey, Vault ranked the firm the #3 Best Law Firm to Work For and Fortune ranked us one of the top 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials.
