Christopher Austin is global co-head of Orrick’s Capital Markets practice as well as global co-chair of Orrick's Blockchain and Cryptocurrency practice. He focuses on capital markets, cryptocurrency, venture capital and corporate law, with extensive experience in public offerings, public and private company governance and securities law compliance.
Chris counsels public and high-growth technology companies on general corporate and transactional matters, including advising on formation, venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate governance, and intellectual property issues. He has extensive experience advising both companies and investment banks on capital markets matters, including leading deals involving BAML, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley, in connection with initial public offerings and follow-on offerings of technology and life sciences companies.
With a combination of securities law, fintech and startup experience, Chris has become a recognized leader on cryptocurrency and blockchain matters. Chambers USA ranks him Band 1 for Fintech in the USA and reports: "clients call [...] upon his wealth of experience in public offerings, SAFT issues and token sales. Sources cite his "commercial" and "thorough" approach as a key asset, while also praising his ability to "get things done." Recent experience includes working with companies such as Hedera (Hashgraph), Threefold Foundation and others on issues around token sales, SAFT offerings and securities law compliance. He leads a multi-disciplinary team of money transmission, derivatives, broker dealer, litigation and compensation and benefits experts to provide holistic advice in a rapidly changing regulatory environment. Emmanuel Avramesco is a Litigation lawyer in Orrick's Paris office, with a focus on corporate and commercial disputes as well as on arbitral proceedings.
Emmanuel has significant experience advising listed and non-listed French and foreign companies and their management on their corporate crises, especially conflicts related to shareholders’ disputes, post-acquisition litigation, LBO related disputes and managers’ liability. His practice also includes insolvency procedures.
His skill further extends to criminal law litigation and white collar crime, where he assists and represents clients in the course of judicial investigations and before French courts.
His works also include commercial and real-estate disputes. He notably intervened on issues relating to the breach or non fulfilment of contractual provisions and brutal termination of established business relationships.
In addition to his practice, Emmanuel assists clients in the framework of arbitral proceedings and arbitration-related matters such as annulment proceedings.
Before joining Orrick, Emmanuel started his career as an associate at Baker & McKenzie and has worked with Reinhart Marville Torre for five years.

Her Practice focuses on real estate and energy and infrastructures matters.
Prior to being relocated in Abidjan, Zahara worked in Orrick’s Paris Office within the real estate department.
Prior to joining Orrick, Zahara worked in France as a lawyer for AVIVA Protection Juridique, Poste-immo and Eiffage real estate and construction.
Jonathan Ayre represents clients in acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures with respect to upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas assets. His corporate practice includes the formation of private equity-backed entities investing in the oil and gas industry.
Jonathan also represents clients in project development matters, with a focus on engineering, procurement and construction agreements for major capital projects, including liquefied natural gas facilities. He counsels a range of clients on general corporate matters, including entity formation, joint ventures, equity ownership, and corporate governance.
Margaux Azoulay is a Tax lawyer in Orrick's Paris office.
She assists French and foreign companies on business-related taxation aspects as well as the tax aspects of their mergers and acquisitions or restructurings.
Margaux's expertise further extends to real estate taxation, where she advises companies owning real estate assets (property companies, developers, insurance companies) and investors (funds and credit institutions). She notably has expertise in the fields of the SIIC regime and real estate investment funds. She also has experience advising on the tax aspects of Public-Private Partnership contracts (PPP).
In addition to her practice, Margaux advises on wealth management, and notably on the management and conveyance of assets and liabilities of natural persons and families. She also assists them on their tax inspections and disputes.
