Rebecca Downes is a managing associate in the London office and is a member of the Energy & Infrastructure Practice with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, gas and LNG sales arrangements and project development activities within the oil and gas industry.

Rebecca has significant experience of acting for a broad range of clients including IOCs, financial institutions and project companies on a variety of domestic and international upstream and midstream oil and gas transactions. Recently, she has been advising clients with interests in Africa, South America, Central Asia and the UKCS.

    • Represented Tullow Oil on its offshore gas sales programmes in the Republic of Ghana.
    • Represented Petro Victory Energy on its gas project developments in Paraguay.
    • Represented a confidential client on its concession interests in Central Asia.
    • Represented Falcon Oil & Gas on the farm-out of its exploration interest in the Beetaloo Basin, Northern Territory of Australia.
    • Represented a confidential client on its proposed acquisition of a pipeline supply company.
    • Represented a confidential client on offshore developments in Benin.
    • Represented JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration on its acquisition of 52 licences and infrastructure assets in the UKCS.
    • Represented Dyas UK Limited on the divestment of its participating interests in each of the: Athena Field, Cladhan Field and Broom Field, in the UKCS.
    • Represented a confidential client on the acquisition and leasing of a FPSO vessel and the hire and purchase of an equipment topside package.
    • Represented a FTSE 100 company on its bid for certain upstream oil and gas assets in the UKCS.
    • Represented Sempra on LNG purchase commitment terms.
    • Represented Dana Gas in connection with the development of a gas field in the UAE.
    • Represented a European-based gas and power company on its proposed purchase of LNG to be delivered to certain European unloading ports on an ex-ship basis and its proposed sale of natural gas.
