Legislative/Regulatory Participation

Orrick's Financial Markets Group has participated in the development of securitization markets throughout the world. We have assisted clients in developing many innovative structures and have played a critical role in many of the major legal developments that have shaped the structured finance field.

United States
Orrick acts as outside counsel to the American Securitization Forum (ASF) on designated matters, including ASF responses to Rule AB, the covered bond initiative and the nationwide streamlined loan modification initiative. As a matter of course, we actively advise clients on regulatory developments, including, most recently, the TARP and other Treasury, Federal Reserve and FDIC initiatives. We also serve as counsel to J.P. Morgan on the Federal Reserve Money Market Investor Funding Facility.

Europe
Our London partners regularly represent the interests of our clients and other market participants at meetings of the European Securitisation Forum, ISDA, the Debt Users Forum and other industry working groups. An Italian partner serves as secretary of the Italian Committee of European Securitisation Forum (ESF).

Asia
Orrick’s financial markets practice is pan Asian, with highly regarded strengths in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. An Asian partner is a founding member and current director of the Asia-Pacific Securitisation Association.
