Our Team

Laura L. Becking, of counsel in Orrick's New York office, is a member of the Global Corporate Solutions team. Her practice focuses on international employment and labor laws and global personal data privacy.

Laura has extensive experience managing international employment law, employee equity compensation, and data privacy projects for a wide range of companies in the financial, insurance, publishing and e-commerce industries. In particular, she has assisted post-merger clients with operations in the Asia-Pacific region and the EU with the integration of data privacy, employment law and employee equity standards and systems from the legal and compliance perspective.

Laura has lectured on a number of topics, including International Data Protection, Employee Equity Programs and Securities and Labor Law Changes.

Christopher Germain, of counsel in Orrick's New York office, is a member of the Global Corporate Solutions team.

Prior to joining Orrick, Chris led global regulatory initiatives for Citibank's Investment Bank as Director and Counsel to Citi Markets and Banking's Strategic Regulatory Initiative group. While with Citi, Chris played an integral role in rolling out its equity compensation program in more than 100 countries in addition to establishing the worldwide privacy compliance framework for the implementation of Citi's global HR electronic information system.

D. Seth McNary is Director of Orrick's Global Corporate Secretary Service. Seth, an attorney by training, oversees the development and implementation of this new, innovative service for the firm.

Prior to joining Orrick, Seth was Chief of Staff within the General Counsel's office of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young where he was responsible for the operational performance of the Americas legal team and oversight of corporate law functions, including corporate maintenance and filings. He was a member of numerous law management committees including the Steering Committee of the department.

Seth brings an important in-house perspective to the Corporate Secretary Service.

Lowell D. Ness, a corporate partner in the Silicon Valley Office, focuses his practice on corporate governance and managing corporate transactions for emerging companies as well as established global enterprises.

Lowell helped found the firm's corporate practice in Silicon Valley and has created innovative client database and document assembly tools to efficiently serve the firm's emerging company clients. His international corporate practice also leverages technology to provide legal services involving all aspects of corporate governance and corporate compliance matters for clients doing business around the globe.

Jonathan M. Ocker, a partner in the San Francisco office and Chair of the Compensation and Benefits Group, focuses his practice advising founders and CEOs, and technology, financial service and communications entities, from start-ups to multinational industry leaders.

Jon has globally recognized expertise and 25 plus years of experience in executive compensation planning and equity incentive plans. He often organizes teams of the firm's lawyers to assist clients in achieving their business objectives with respect to corporate, tax, employment and intellectual property transactional and litigation matters.
