Employment
Law Deskbook
October 2006
The Employment Law Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is pleased to announce the release of the fifth edition of the California Employment Law Deskbook.
As you know, California employment law is more complex and more particular than employment law in most states. We developed the Deskbook as an easy-to-use reference tool for employment lawyers and human resources professionals to ensure that they are up-to-date on important changes in state employment laws. The California Employment Law Deskbook (5th ed.) is available either as a one-volume desktop reference book or a CD-ROM for those who want to digitally scan or reference a particular section.
The Deskbook features in-depth, but readily accessible, chapters discussing key areas of employment law, including:
- wrongful termination
- employment discrimination, including sexual harassment and affirmative action
- wage-and-hour
- employee information, medical and privacy issues
- immigration
- union organizing
- public employment
- unemployment compensation
- workers' compensation
- garnishments and other wage levies
- occupational safety and health
- miscellaneous employment law issues, such as:
- confidentiality and noncompetition
- agreements
- employee inventions
- employee benefit plans and COBRA
- voting time
- jury duty/witness appearance
- pregnancy and family/medical leave
- independent contractors
- reductions in force and plant closings; and
- records and postings.
For your convenience, an order form is available for either the hard-copy or CD-ROM version of the Deskbook (or both). Please return your completed order form, along with your payment, and we will send you the Deskbook immediately. |
