
Recent Engagements
Some of our notable financing achievements in 2005 include the representation of:
- Nanosolar, a company focused on delivering cost-efficient solar energy, in its Series B financing.
- Facebook, an online college student directory, in its Series B financing.
- Meebo, the first integrated, Ajax-enabled Web instant messaging service, in its Series A financing, which was
led by Sequoia Capital.
- SpikeSource, a provider of open source infrastructure, in its Series A financing.
Orrick also represents venture capital funds in fund formations and investments. Our 2005 engagements included:
- Benchmark Capital Management in its Series A financing of Zillow.com, an online real estate service. Zillow.com was founded by Richard Barton, the founder of Expedia.
- Lightspeed Venture Partners in the formation and funding of Lightspeed Venture Partners VII, L.P., a $480 million venture fund.
- VantagePoint Venture Partners in the $580 million acquisition of its portfolio company, Intermix Media, Inc., by News Corporation's newly formed Fox Interactive Media Unit. VantagePoint Venture Partners held a 22 percent
interest in Intermix Media, a premier social gaming and entertainment site.
