Disputes and litigation involving employees and third parties include such matters as benefit claims, claims of discrimination in benefits, executive contract disputes, option vesting issues, fiduciary duty claims, and plan claims against benefit plan service providers. Lawsuits based on these issues are on the rise in response to the decline in the markets and employer stock funds in 401(k) plans.
