• Asian Counsel. 'M&A Deal of the Year', 2010 award for Orrick’s role, through the appointment of Xiang Wang as an independent ICC arbitrator by Ford Motor Company to an Intellectual Property Dispute Resolution Board, to help resolve intellectual property issues related to the US$1.8 billion acquisition of Volvo from Ford by Zhejiang Geely Holding Co., Ltd.
• Asian Legal Business and Asian Counsel. 'Deal of the Year' awards in 2008 and 2009 for advising Lehman Brothers Asia and JP Morgan on the acquisition financing of a premier office building in Shanghai, one of the largest single-property acquisitions in China.
• China Law & Practice, in association with the IFLR1000. 'Deal of the Year', 2008 award for the initial public offering of Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited. Orrick advised the underwriters in the first IPO for a Chinese company with three categories of shares issued: A shares denominated in Renminbi, B shares denominated in foreign currency (listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange) and H shares (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange).
• Chinese Lawyer. 'Contribution Award', 2008 for Orrick’s contribution to the development of law in China and for promoting Sino-foreign exchange. Orrick is the only foreign law firm to be honored with this prestigious award from the magazine of the All China Lawyers Association and China’s only monthly law publication issued by the Ministry of Justice.
