Podcast: ADA and Online Business - Are You In Compliance?

Orrick Explains New Liabilities at the Intersection of the ADA and the Internet

In National Federation of the Blind v. Target (September 2006), a federal district court judge in the Northern District of California ruled that a company providing goods or services at a physical location as well as on the Internet may be obligated to make its web site, not only its store, accessible to disabled persons.  In so doing, the court has taken the first steps toward extending the reach of civil rights laws to the burgeoning world of internet retail. In this 40-minute podcast, lawyers from Orrick's Intellectual Property and Employment Law practices explain the new liabilities that could arise at the intersection of the ADA and the Internet.
