Asian-Counsel
Orrick received Asian-Counsel's 2007 "Deal of the Year" award for its work with Standard Chartered Bank as arranger of the US$1.29 billion seventh RMBS for Standard Chartered First Bank Korea. This is the largest Asia (excluding Japan) securitization transaction to date.
Orrick Tokyo lawyers represented the largest independent real estate fund in Japan in its ¥143 billion ($1.2 billion) acquisition and financing of the Shiba Park office building, the largest single developed property acquisition completed at that time in Japan. The transaction was named a finalist for both the 2006 "Real Estate Deal of the Year" award from Asian-Counsel and the 2007 "Real Estate Deal of the Year" award from Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards.
China Law & Practice
Orrick's China team received the 2008 China Law & Practice "Deal of the Year" award in capital markets for its work on the Shandong Chenming Paper Holding Limited IPO transaction.
Orrick was named a finalist for 2007 "Firm of the Year" (Securitization & Structured Finance) and 2007 "Deal of the Year" (Securitization & Structured Finance) from China Law & Practice.
