The Bond Buyer

Orrick's Public Finance Group ranked first among all law firms for bond counsel and for disclosure counsel for 2010. This is the tenth year in a row that the group has ranked first for bond counsel.

Business Insurance Magazine/U.S. News and World Report

In 2010, Orrick's Insurance practice group was ranked in "National Tier 1" by U.S. News & World Report, and Business Insurance magazine called Orrick the ninth largest insurance recovery firm in the country.

California Real Estate Journal

Orrick's Global Real Estate Group received the 2007 "Industrial Sale of the Year" from the California Real Estate Journal for advising CalWest Industrial Properties, a CalPERS/RREEF joint venture, in a complex transaction involving the sale of 95 industrial and business parks and three ground leases located throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Arizona and Indiana.

Marine Money

Orrick received the "Leasing Deal of the Year" award for 2007 from Marine Money. The transaction involved advising Crédit Industriel et Commercial in its Singaporean operating lease for the US$303 million financing of three 6,500 TEU container vessels. The lessee was CMA CGM International Shipping Company.

Project Finance International

Orrick was recognized with "African Infrastructure Deal of the Year" and "African Oil and Gas Deal of the Year" honors at the 2008 Project Finance International Awards.

Risk

Orrick received the 2007 "Deal of the Year" award from Risk magazine for the representation of the credit default swap provider in the successful restructuring of a SIV-Lite involving a portfolio primarily consisting of U.S. residential mortgage-backed securities. Risk magazine noted that the transaction constituted the only successful restructuring to date of a SIV or a SIV-Lite. Risk magazine highlighted the fact that the restructuring not only provides for the full payment of senior liabilities, but also may eventually enable mezzanine and capital noteholders to receive full payment of principal.

Orrick was runner-up for the 2007 “Real Estate Deal of the Year” from the Silicon Valley Business Journal and finalist for the 2007 "Land Deal of the Year" from the San Francisco Business Times for advising Cisco Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of Cisco Systems, Inc., in the sale of a 152-parcel of land in Fremont, California, to an affiliate of the Oakland Athletics (A’s) baseball team.

Total Securitization

Orrick was named 2008 European Securitization Law Firm of the Year by Total Securitization at the 4th Annual Global Derivatives & European Securitization awards ceremony.
