Michelle Taylor is the Office Leader for Orrick's China Offices and head of the firm's Financial Markets Group in Asia. She is based in Hong Kong.
Beginning with a cross-border English law finance practice based in London, Ms. Taylor has focused her practice on cross-border finance for more than 16 years, representing lenders, borrowers, issuers, arrangers, trustees, rating agencies and swap providers.
In 1998, Ms. Taylor moved to Hong Kong and has since established one of the most active cross-border finance practices in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Highlights of Ms. Taylor's award winning transactions include the following.
- Advising KPMG on the work-out, sale and restructuring of certain Lehman assets in China.
- Advising the lenders on multiple cross-border real estate financings in China.
- Advising the arrangers on the first cross-border CMBS in China.
- Advising on multiple cross-border securitisation transactions in Korea since 2001 (including future flow, credit card, auto loan and mortgage-backed transactions).
- Advising the arrangers on the first whole business securitisation in Malaysia using a pioneering investment grade rated structured bond issue.
Her market leading experience involves sophisticated transactions in Asia's most developed financial markets, as well as in Asia's emerging financial markets, including Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Ms. Taylor has handled finance transactions in a wide range of industries, such as airline, insurance, consumer credit, commercial finance, energy, semiconductor manufacturing and real estate.
