Neal Stender, a Corporate partner in Orrick's Hong Kong and Beijing offices, focuses his practice on cross-border investments, transactions and operations in China and Hong Kong. Mr. Stender advises on joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, renewable energy, intellectual property licensing and protection, tax planning, customs and trade, real property, environmental compliance and dispute resolution.
Mr. Stender is admitted as a California attorney and qualified as a Hong Kong solicitor.
Mr. Stender began advising foreign companies on China matters in 1980, working for five years as a Beijing-based representative and consultant. He practiced as a lawyer in California and Korea until 1993, when he moved to Hong Kong. Since 1996, Mr. Stender has been a Hong Kong-based and Beijing-based partner in international law firms, joining the Hong Kong office of Coudert Brothers in 2002, and moving with that office to Orrick in 2005.
