Jeffrey Prokop, a managing associate in the Washington, D.C., office, is a member of the Litigation Group. Mr. Prokop's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts and in international arbitrations. His practice also focuses on government, regulatory and internal corporate investigations and white collar criminal defense. Mr. Prokop has represented clients in various appeals courts and before the United States Supreme Court in a variety of business disputes and pro bono matters.
Mr. Prokop has represented and advised financial institutions, oil and gas producers, private equity funds and construction, insurance, telecommunications and pharmaceutical companies in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, civil RICO, shareholder rights and purchase price issues.
Mr. Prokop also has represented numerous companies and individuals in investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, SEC, IRS, NASD/FINRA and the New York Attorney General. He has experience in cases relating to insurance fraud, bank fraud, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, tax shelters, securities regulation compliance and securities fraud. He has conducted several internal investigations for investment banks and other financial services-related companies.
