Paul White, a partner in the London office, is a member of the Tax Group.
Mr. White has a wide range of United Kingdom and international business taxation experience relating to companies and corporate partnerships with an emphasis on United Kingdom corporation tax and value added tax.
He has acted in relation to a variety of corporate joint venture arrangements, via partnerships and corporate vehicles including in relation to U.K. PFI projects; the tax efficient structuring of U.K. and non-U.K. corporate groups; and corporate mergers, acquisitions, disposals and restructurings. Frequently this advice is given in the context of inward investment to the EU by U.S. based corporations and extends to advice on residency issues both for corporations and individuals as well as coordinating the opinions of non-U.K. tax counsel.
He has extensive experience acting on behalf of banks and other financial institutions with a particular emphasis on structured and asset finance, especially UK and cross border operating and finance leases, receivables financing, and hire purchase structures in relation to a range of 'big ticket' equipment, including communication satellites and telecommunications equipment.
Mr. White regularly advises clients in relation to the tax efficient structuring of investment and hedge funds and the involvement of UK based investment managers.
Mr. White is a regular speaker at conferences on UK tax issues and has published a number of papers on tax based financing in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. White was a partner in Denton Wilde Sapte.
