Kathleen Patterson, a partner in the San Francisco office, is a member of the Litigation Group. She focuses her practice on the defense of complex litigation for clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer product industries. Ms. Patterson is an experienced and accomplished trial lawyer, having successfully tried to verdict cases in various state and federal courts. Ms. Patterson has substantial experience in multijurisdiction litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation and coordinated proceedings in state courts. She has served as national, regional and state counsel in nationwide litigation on behalf of a variety of clients.
Ms. Patterson also has counseled clients regarding Proposition 65 issues, including risk assessment and compliance, and defended Proposition 65 cases alleging consumer exposures to lead, cadmium, mercury, phthalates and toluene. In addition, Ms. Patterson’s practice involves counseling clients regarding Consumer Product Safety Act compliance, product labeling and other litigation-preemptive strategies.
Ms. Patterson has represented such companies as Abbott Laboratories, Bayer Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, the Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust, Genentech, Inc., General Nutrition Companies Inc. and Hoffmann-LaRoche Inc.
