Mentoring
At its best, mentoring is about two things: great relationships and meaningful advice. Orrick lawyers tell us that mentoring their colleagues is one of the most rewarding parts of their careers. We also have formal programs to ensure that our mentors provide you with useful guidance. This begins with the advancement expectations that are clearly defined by each practice group. Through our Talent Model Mentor Program, you will be paired with a partner mentor in your practice group who has been in your shoes and can help you plan your work experiences, understand performance feedback and progress toward your professional goals.
The most successful lawyers have numerous mentors over the course of their careers–and we provide many other programs to ensure you have the benefit of different perspectives. This includes our Career Coaches, New Associate Mentor program, Mentoring "Families," and Women's Networking Circles and Affinity Groups that are sponsored by our Diversity Program.
