Background
Allan joined Orrick as a trainee in September 2007. Prior to joining Orrick, having specialised in International Relations in Italy, he took up a position in Japan as a Co-ordinator of International Relations where he was involved in grass-roots internalisation projects. Having spent one year there, he transferred to a remote island (population 1500) for two years to continue his work and gain greater understanding of rural Japan. It was during this time that he interviewed and accepted a training contract with Orrick and went on to complete the LPC on his return to the UK.
Why Orrick?
Because of my exposure to working internationally, I wanted to continue to gain from this experience and realised that joining an expanding international law firm which offered exposure to global clients and cross-border work would be an ideal career move going forward. This, together with the advantages of an intimate intake of trainees and the greater level of responsibility offered, seemed a perfect choice for me.
Personal Interests
Jogging (successfully ran the London Marathon in 2008), executive committee member for the London Young Lawyers' Group.
