Background
Cris joined Orrick as a trainee in September 2008. Previously he served in the Armed Forces.
Why Orrick?
I was drawn by the fact that Orrick is a genuinely global organisation with an international client base of household names. The range of departments within the firm is very impressive and includes several domains in which I was particularly interested.
Whilst Orrick is a huge firm globally, the London office is compact and far from anonymous, taking on only ten trainees a year. The combination of high level work in an office small enough to know who one is working with is highly attractive.
The selection process at Orrick also stood out from other firms. The open day system provided an excellent insight into the firm, whilst providing an opportunity to interact with future colleagues and show how one could work as part of a team.
Beginning a training contract at Orrick has been an intense and rewarding experience encompassing real responsibility from the outset, tempered by excellent guidance and training. So far, it would be true to say that my expectations have been met and even exceeded.
