American Bar Association

Orrick received the 2008 National Public Service Award from the American Bar Association Section of Business Law for its pro bono microfinance work. Orrick was nominated by the Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project of the New York City Bar Justice Center, Global Partnership and KIVA Microfunds.

American Lawyer

Orrick was named to The American Lawyer's prestigious "A-List" for the third consecutive year in 2009. The list, which "aims to measure and quantify the qualities that define an elite law firm," ranks the nation's top law firms on the basis of not only financial results but also associate satisfaction, diversity and pro bono contribution.

California State Bar

Orrick's Sacramento, San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices received the California State Bar's 2008 President's Pro Bono Service Award in the Large Law Firm category.

Sixty-two Orrick lawyers are recognized as leaders across 28 practice areas in Chambers USA 2009. Practice areas include litigation, projects and energy, capital markets, intellectual property, bankruptcy and employment law.

Fortune

Orrick has been ranked in Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" in 2009. Orrick is ranked 87th on the top 100 list and 26th on the small companies list.

Human Rights Campaign

Orrick received a 100 percent rating in the 2009 Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, a report card on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality in corporate America. This is the third consecutive year Orrick has received a perfect rating.

Minority Corporate Counsel

Orrick was recipient of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association's 2008 Thomas L. Sager Award, Western Region. The award recognizes law firms that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to improve the hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys.

Orrick is ranked 12th in the The Minority Law Journal's 2009 Diversity Scorecard.

Morgan Stanley

For the second consecutive year, Morgan Stanley named Orrick a top law firm of the year for diversity. Orrick was recognized at a reception hosted by Morgan Stanley in New York on March 4, 2009. Once again, Orrick stood out among other law firms for its commitment to nurturing and developing diversity internally and in the legal profession generally. The presenters recognized Orrick’s comprehensive and progressive diversity program, which covers the entire firm and all demographics and includes numerous programs and initiatives.

Multicultural Law Magazine

For the fourth consecutive year, Orrick was recognized by MultiCultural Law Magazine as one of the "Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity" for the firm's commitment to advancing diversity at Orrick and within the profession. Orrick is ranked sixth on the magazine's 2009 list.

San Francisco Business Times

For the sixth consecutive year, Orrick earned a place on the San Francisco Business Times list of Top Corporate Philanthropists in the Greater Bay Area. Orrick jumped seven places to No. 33 in 2008.
