Opened in 1983, Orrick Sacramento is home to nearly 40 lawyers with nationally recognized practices handling complex litigation and appeals and sophisticated financial transactions for national and international clients, as well as for the State of California and local governments.
Our lawyers and governmental affairs professionals provide clients with strategic advice and advocacy where the laws and regulations are made—the California Legislature, the executive branch, and a multitude of state agencies. Our government contracting and procurement lawyers counsel clients with respect to government contracting, including bidding requirements and other pre-award issues, bid protests and post-award negotiations and disputes.
Our litigators have an unparalleled depth and substantial trial experience litigating complex matters in a wide variety of subject areas, including commercial disputes, employment, white collar criminal law, regulatory compliance, such as Proposition 65, environmental matters, and antitrust and securities litigation. We regularly represent local, national and international clients, as well as public agencies throughout the state, in their most important disputes. Our public finance lawyers act as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel on a wide variety of financings for the State of California, local governments, special districts and non profit organizations. Our public finance lawyers play a leading role in Orrick’s national healthcare finance practice, working with many of the largest healthcare systems throughout the country.
Our lawyers are also involved in complex restructurings, both in and out of bankruptcy court, for institutional and governmental creditors and debtors, including the Cities of Stockton and Vallejo, the two largest cities to seek bankruptcy relief.
Orrick lawyers and staff in the Sacramento office lead the firm in pro bono participation, winning several awards for their involvement in significant pro bono matters and for collaborating with a client’s in-house lawyers to enhance their delivery of pro bono services. In addition, the Sacramento office takes its community responsibility seriously, partnering with local community organizations, including Oak Ridge Elementary School, a Title I public elementary school in Oak Park.
