Orange County

Opened in 2002, the Orange County office focuses on patent litigation matters in California and throughout the United States.

Our Orange County team represents companies on the cutting-edge of technology, winning a number of landmark and first-impression cases. One of our major advantages is our deep understanding of IP and technology within our clients’ industries, including medical devices, biotechnology, electronics, information technology, software, semiconductors, telecommunications, and gaming and entertainment. Nearly all members of our IP team are admitted before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The Orange County office also provides a team of lawyers dedicated to the needs of biomedical and IT start-ups, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and other participants in the IP-driven emerging companies. Our focus on emerging companies means Orrick provides efficient, cost-effective and creative service from lawyers who understand the business impact of their legal solutions.

The Orange County office also provides clients with a white-collar criminal defense and corporate investigations practice and a labor and employment practice. The white-collar criminal defense and corporate investigations practice is led by a former Assistant United States Attorney. With 10 years of fraud and public corruption prosecutions experience, he received a “Director’s Award,” one of the highest honors bestowed on federal prosecutors.
