Orrick acted as counsel on three award winning Project Finance magazine Deals of the Year in the categories of public–private partnership ("PPP"), toll road and water.
Project Finance magazine awarded its North American Toll Road Deal of the Year for 2012 to the $2.089 billion Elizabeth River Crossings tolled tunnel concession. Orrick served as legal counsel to the sponsors Skanska and Macquarie on the transaction. Project Finance also awarded the North American PPP Deal of the Year to the Presidio Parkway PPP in which Orrick served as legal counsel to the lenders and awarded North American Water Deal of the Year to the Poseidon Resources’ Carlsbad project in which Orrick served as bond counsel.
Orrick has also been selected by Euromoney's Legal Media Group ("LMG") to its “Top 10 Clean Technology Firms” list and energy and infrastructure partners Thomas Glascock and Mark Weitzel were named to the LMG CleanTech 100. Firms and lawyers were selected based on the breadth of their clean technology and renewable energy practices, their representative experience, the recognition of their peers and their initiatives in spearheading awareness within the clean technology and renewable energy industries in the United States.
