Financial Times Names Orrick to its List of the Most Innovative International Firms in the Asia-Pacific Region

June.12.2014

Financial Times has named Orrick one of the twenty most innovative international law firms in its inaugural Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers report. The FT also highlighted two Orrick matters as exemplars: its representation of U-Shin, one of Asia’s largest producers of automotive access mechanisms, in the acquisition of Valeo’s access mechanisms business, and its advice to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the development and financing of the $1.76 billion Vinh Tan 1 coal-fired power project in Vietnam. The firm completed this engagement in collaboration with Vietnamese law firm LVN & Associates.

Orrick’s Asia platform includes offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo. The firm’s China team is a leader in capital markets and M&A/private equity as well as intellectual property and international arbitration. The firm acts for Chinese state and privately owned entities in their activities worldwide. In Tokyo, Orrick has leading practices in outbound M&A, renewable energy, real estate, and litigation and intellectual property. In addition, the firm is active on behalf of global clients in investigation matters across Asia, which may trigger multi-jurisdictional compliance issues including the U.S. and Europe.
