August.29.2013

The Bond Buyer recently profiled Orrick’s public finance practice in honor of the firm’s 150th anniversary, including more than a century of leadership in public finance. The article traces the history of the firm’s contributions in the public finance market both in California and nationally.

“Orrick has worked on virtually every type of public finance transaction there is. In almost every state, in several territories, and even a number of Indian tribes,” Roger Davis, chair of Orrick’s Public Finance Group, told the Bond Buyer.

The article highlights several of the notable infrastructure projects the firm has been a part of over the years, including the financing of the Golden Gate Bridge, Los Angeles International Airport and Stanford University. In addition, it recognizes the firm for not only successfully adapting to changing regulations but also creating new and innovative types of financings for issuers.

Orrick’s Public Finance practice has ranked as number one municipal bond counsel in the nation since 2001 according to Thomson Reuters data and number one in California every year since 1986, when the earliest data is available.
