The International Financial Law Review awarded Orrick intellectual property partner Annette Hurst the Best in Copyright honor at the Americas Women in Business Law Awards. In addition, the Daily Journal named Ms. Hurst to its list of the top 100 women lawyers in California.

Ms. Hurst is honored for her work representing Dish Network in two of the highest profile IP cases of the past year. These cases involved copyright disputes with several major broadcast networks over the company’s advanced DVR recording and ad-skipping features (known as Primetime Anytime and AutoHop). She is also recognized for her pro bono work on behalf of Black Rock City, the organizers of the Burning Man event, in its dispute with local leaders of Pershing County, Nevada.

Earlier this year, Ms. Hurst was named to the Daily Journal’s Top IP Litigators list, and was selected as a Law360 IP MVP for 2013.
